2010 Flashback: Next for GOP leaders: Stopping Sarah Palin
Politico ^ | October 31, 2010 | MIKE ALLEN & JIM VANDEHEI

Top Republicans in Washington and in the national GOP establishment say the 2010 campaign highlighted an urgent task that they will begin in earnest as soon as the elections are over: Stop Sarah Palin.

Interviews with advisers to the main 2012 presidential contenders and with other veteran Republican operatives make clear they see themselves on a common, if uncoordinated, mission of halting the momentum and credibility Palin gained with conservative activists by plunging so aggressively into this year’s midterm campaigns.

There is rising expectation among GOP elites that Palin will probably run for president in 2012 and could win the Republican nomination, a prospect many of them regard as a disaster in waiting.

(snip)

"There is a determined, focused establishment effort … to find a candidate we can coalesce around who can beat Sarah Palin," said one prominent and longtime Washington Republican. "We believe she could get the nomination, but Barack Obama would crush her."

Ah, they beat her with a psychological campaign. Women have such weak minds we know.

Run that one past Sarah as well...

It’s incredible that Mitt didn’t have Palin as a speaker at the Repub convention. Notice that the convention gave him no bounce.

Sarah Palin would not have won.

Don't you find it ironic that those who are attacking you for your point are going back four years to a candidate who was part of the GOP-e and looking to her for salvation?

“Yes you did! By saying she wouldn’t have won! So shut your piehole you KNOW diddly squat! “
********************************************
No, I won’t shut my “piehole”— if that is what it is, fine, ban me.

I don’t walk zombie step. Palin would NOT have won. Get over it or delude yourself.

Palin would NOT have won this election, if she thought she would—she would have run. But send some money...it will make you feel better.

I bet you five dollars she would say the same.

Ah, they beat her with a psychological campaign.

Go back and review all the old Palin threads from 2008, 2009, and 2010 where this was discussed ad nauseum, and then get back to me, chief.

Those are your words and reflect your views, not mine, you don’t even remember the time table of the period and how she was building her campaign and her national momentum for the announcement.

Sarah doesn’t have to answer to ANYONE but her God and husband. You should know that but, obviously, you don’t.

*shrug*

I find it odd that they go ape-chit when Palin didn’t gopher it because she knew what the score is. Their hero but deluded to the point they can’t trust her good judgement.

Oh well for them. Palin isn’t stupid. But they are overcome by worship. Sad.

I’m just summarizing what you say kept Sarah out of the race. They sure make her sound weak.

I would really like you to run them past her.

You keep being the loser you are - it’s funny watching you being a moron when you know diddle squat.

Would Romney have won if he ran?

Your reply maintains the high standards of non sequitur that I’ve come to expect from you.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

I don’t really think there’s going to be much of a GOP to be stopping much of anything from this point forward. The GOP-e has pretty much stopped itself.

BTW, I’m not the one here defending the proposition that others had the power to cause Sarah not run.

Maybe I have a higher opinion of her than some of her strongest supporters; seems so in this case anyway.

I don’t have to take garbage in to know it is garbage. You haven’t learned that lesson yet.

Listen, I think we're on the same side here and are just talking past each other.

My point is that the GOP-E has been backstabbing Conservatives in general, and Palin in particular, by using such Rat propaganda mechanisms as Politico. I know it's garbage like you do, but the GOP-E uses it to attack us, and so ignoring that political weapon is like ignoring valuable, actionable intelligence about what the enemy is doing and saying.

Well, “Chief” if you say you had threads about Sarah being beat by a psychological campaign, I’ll take your word for it.

But I’d still like to hear Sarah’s view of that theory, because I don’t think like it at all. Makes her sound pretty darn weak and gutless. I think she’s more of a fighter than that and has taken on a lot stronger challenges than “psychological campaigns”.

Again, you just don’t remember the history, the timing, the campaigning, and the chain of events, all this girlish talk is just weird.

Politics man, not this gender nonsense and “summarizing” and ‘go tell Sarah’ stuff. I have better things to do than politely respond to post after post of this childish fluff especially on election night.

You don’t like Palin, and Romney has let you down, I got it.
