New York and New Jersey ordered the evacuation of nursing homes and low-lying coastal areas already devastated by deadly Superstorm Sandy as a smaller but still powerful Nor'easter approached from the Atlantic Ocean. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg closed parks and beaches and temporarily halted outdoor construction ahead of the storm, which was pelting the Washington area with ice pellets on Wednesday and whipping up seas as high as 7.5 feet about 20 miles off New York's JFK airport, AccuWeather reported.

Screw NYC and NJ. Since they elected this president for us, I hope incurable cholera breaks out and millions die.

So the Romney/GOP was, also, expecting to get NY and NJ? Check your oil before spewing idiotic venom. Truly you are not one who can think for yourself - just jump on the bandwagon! Liberalism/Rinoism at it's finest!

NY way over payed federal taxes about $87 Billion 1990-2009. They should take back some of their own money .
No more.

www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2011/08/americas-fiscal-union

New Mexio. Time to give that back to Mexico. Heck , they can have Florida, Alabama, Hawaii . Alaska, and Missippi .
Time to get rid of some dead weight.
Texas is not too shabby, they overpaid
$34 Billion in taxes. Well keep them.

Not like the $150 Billion NJ overpaid.

Chill out.

Check it out.

These comments are simply referring to the political leadership of those States, not the Innocent victims.

You are wrong, like I said check it out before telling someone to chill out.

Know exactly how you feel.

If The Kenyan is going to reach further and further into our pockets then charity begins at home.

You have to recognize that those who would harden their hearts to individuals who truely are suffering is very small on FR.

YOU have to recognize that metmom was addressing very small individuals on FR.

What you are seeing now on FR is simply a reaction to the Blue States who expect to be bailed out by the Red States for their own free spending ways.

What is in the heart comes out the mouth. In this case, HARDNESS. Deal with it. Do you know anyone in NYC or NJ that was hit by Sandy and they were 'free spending'? If not, zip it and don't make wild claims.

The people for whom I have absolutely NO sympathy at all are the public housing parasites who are in the dark. NY Post a couple of days ago had a quote from a public housing resident, one "frustrated Ralph Felts" who said about a flooded basement in his project, "When is somone going to do something about this." Lazy a$$hole. They expect their fellow citizens to provide them everything and complain when they don't get first service. SO while I don't wish evil on NY and NJ residents, actions have consequences and electing liberal corrupt union sucking governments is in part responsible for the length of time it's taking to get everything restored to at least a minimum of functionality.

Can't say as I disagree with anything you said, but like I said, the blanket condemnation of everyone living in a blue state by others who themselves live in a blue state, is hypocritical at the very least.

When conservatives mouth off like that about hardening their hearts, all it does is add fuel to the lies the liberals posit about conservatives being callous.

Would I bail out some welfare deadbeat who's whining about the government not being there to provide for him in the way and as fast as he likes? Not likely. The most I'd probably do is offer him a sandwich, delivered with a lecture about depending on others.

Throwing conservatives under the bus because of where they live is not acceptable. They live where they live and don't answer to strangers about why they are there. And they do NOT deserve to be thrown under the bus.

Sometimes the best way to illustrate someone’s absurdity is to be absurd.

Clearly the callous FReepers are absurdity challenged as well.

I hope cholera whipes them all out.

Go on Kartographer's threads and read some of them and get back to me on that, because that is NOT what I see. There are far more than a small number of folks engaged in that kind of mentality.

It's disgusting the attitude I've seen on display by these so-called FReepers about the disaster Sandy inflicted on the US.

Romans 13:1-7 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.

5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

And this written to people living under Nero.

God has a plan for this world, and it more than ever looks like this is the end times. If that's really the case, then certain situations and scenarios HAVE TO BE in place for it to happen.

And I have precious little doubt that this is part of it.

Our attitude should not be one of condemnation of those suffering because of where they live, but looking on this as an opportunity to show the truth and the love of Christ to those who are hurting and see the salvation of their souls.

Our best response to this is to pray that God would use these desperate circumstances, both physical and political, to PRAY for revival and the salvation of those peoples souls.

Hey metmom.

Hope you got , or at a place that has power. Felt heat Monday night. Was nice.
Sister up north will not have power until Sunday. Much colder there. I grew up that area. Ran winter track in shorts and played snow golf with orange balls .
Lots of conservatives in NJ.
My hometown there were some democrats but didn’t advertise it. Never saw one sign anywhere on personal property advertising it. They would have been ostracized.

I reccomend you avoid this site for a long time . Plenty of other conservative sites to share positive
Conservative ideas.
You’ll thank me later :)

Parts of CNY, like where I live, got little wind, little rain and no power outages. I would not have know there was a hurricane without the news reports on it. It was basically pretty normal, mostly overcast, gloomy fall weather.

I honestly thought better of, and hoped for better from, FReepers than what I’ve seen displayed here on these threads.

If someone is going to vote themselves benefits from Uncle Handout, well, they don’t have any business complaining about how it’s managed, but fer cryin’ out loud, it’s not the fault of the entire electorate, and they don’t *deserve* it.

I also had just a little rain with some wind.
Sounded over hyped to me until next day.
Thought I lost power to car hitting pole which happens some time.
I live near coast but not close enough to consider myself near the shore.
Insurance companies should cover homes & businesses . State/federal money should only be used for infrastructure they already maintain .
Most people have the education & income to recover well.
Areas that were already receiving high welfare just want more stuff. Without good education &
self supporting income individuals are just living on contributions or subsidies .

With pell grant & Other loans these people can easily get a job making more money in a year than welfare pays in four. Especially in tri state area where people choose income over free time.
Education is the greatest weapon against welfare and the democrats know it and fear it.
That’s why they give bribes to the poor.
And free education to illegal aliens. They will work for less and take jobs from minority graduates , maintaining demand for welfare programs.

AMEN!! That is the purpose we are here. This isn’t home, this is temporary. It’s all about Jesus - He showed us The Way. Pity those who are so comfy that they don’t reach out to others. Hard heart, like you say. Samaritan’s Purse comes with everything that is necessary, tools, generators the whole ball of wax and A BIBLE! That is the help that LASTS forever.
