Gay Marriage Passing in Three, Possibly Four States (America is Changing Before Our Eyes)
Christian Post ^ | 11/07/2012 | Paul Stanley

Posted on 11/07/2012 6:46:43 AM PST by SeekAndFind

With election results pouring in and President Obama re-elected to a second term, according to network projections, gay marriage activists are celebrating three, and possibly four victories in their efforts to legalize same-sex marriage in Maine, Minnesota, Maryland and Washington State.

Although results were not in for Washington State at the time of publication, it appears same-sex marriage is set to become legal in Maine, Minnesota and Maryland.

With 37 percent of the precincts in Maine reporting, same-sex marriage is leading by a margin of 52 to 48 percent. In Minnesota, same-sex marriage is leading by a slight 49-47 percent.

With 84 percent of the precincts reporting, same-sex marriage is leading in Maryland 52 to 49 percent. One of the many pastors that have been in the trenches in the battle to stop gay activists from legalizing same-sex marriage is Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr.

Although he has primarily led the fight in his home state of Maryland, as a prominent evangelical figure on the national scene, Jackson has traveled extensively showing other pastors and church leaders how to take on the issue when confronted with incredible spending deficiencies.

When The Christian Post spoke with Jackson via phone late Tuesday afternoon at his home in Baltimore, he was eagerly awaiting results from Maryland and the three other states. When asked what he felt the evening's outcome would be, he could not give a definitive answer.

"Only the Lord knows," he replied with laughter. "But the polls here (Maryland) indicated a tight race, but historically, voters tend to support traditional marriage in greater numbers than polls report. When people go behind that curtain they vote their convictions and that's what we're counting on."

Jackson went on to say that the countless volunteers that have worked for traditional marriage in Maryland have been "amazing."

"We could not have gotten the message out without them," he said. "When you are outspent 10 to 1 then horsepower is what you need and that is what we had."

However, when Jackson was asked if gay activists could claim a significant victory if they won at least one of the four states on Tuesday night, he was more emphatic. "No, I don't think they can claim a victory with only one win," he said. "One reason they can't claim victory with one win is because of the spending disparity and because of President Obama. His endorsement gave them a huge advantage but it may turn out to be a disadvantage if enough Christians vote their conscience."

"For the other side to claim a solid victory, they need to win one or more of the four states and re-elect President Obama. Without the White House they have an uphill battle because the only way they've been able to make any progress is through the manipulation of the judicial system with liberal judges in tow."

CNN, FOX, and other networks are reporting that President Obama has been re-elected to a second term.

exactly

the poster puts out a B/S poll whilst ignoring what kids think down here.

I know first hand that most kids here do not accept their turd poking agenda, the lie about kids is a homo lie to make us think we have to change our views.

Seems every now and again the part time freepers and some trolls come on ehre and try to push their queer agenda

a poll, LOL yea alright. I;m here wiht kids, I talk to the kids and their friends, my wife works wiith kids all over and you can take a B/S poll but I’ll take what I see and hear from kids.

If the polls regarding young people's opinions are inaccurate, then why is gay marriage suddenly succeeding at the ballot box when it never has before? Do you think it's older voters that are responsible for passing such laws?

what in liberal states, you said the south will accept it and they have not plus i have given you facts about kids here but you keep trying to push that homo lie about people want it and kids are accepting it.

Do your kids accept turd poking and strap on sex for homosexual women?

Nations that defy God and his laws tend not to prosper. God tends to destroy them and toss them in history’s wastebasket. Look at what happened to the Soviet Union.

Actually, I said the the south will not accept it...but that it will moot when the Federal government, as seems likely, imposes it in the near future, whether via Congress or the Supreme Court.

People in the south didn't accept abortion in the 1960's, but the Supreme Court imposed it on the entire country, did they not?

And if people don't want gay marriage, why is it now passing in elections for the first time?

Do your kids accept turd poking and strap on sex for homosexual women?

I have no children. In any case, the fact that you have anecdotal evidence that a dozen children aren't in favor of gay marriage is hardly evidence of nationwide attitudes towards the same.

No, I think it will be imposed on them sometime in the near future by Federal fiat, just as abortion was.

While I'll grant you that I don't have a lot of contact with children, I've certainly spoken to many young adults. The great majority of them are in favor of gay marriage.

I have young adult children, and he is correct, support for gay marriage is much higher amongst their generation than it is my own. There is no shame in admitting the obvious.

Traditional marriage significantly out-performed the GOP ticket in all four very liberal, very Democratic states where it was on the ballot.

In other words, the traditional marriage issue did not pull down Romney/Ryan. If they had been bigger traditional marriage supporters, it would have pulled them up. They could have even, arguably, won over some of the HUGE number of conservative Evangelicals who DIDN'T VOTE. That's the big, big number people aren't talking about. That's the "dog that didn't bark".

I’m beginning to think that illegal immigration is His way of replacing a population that has turned away from Him, with a population that still believes in Him. If that’s the case, whose side do we want to be on?

If illegals believe in God, then why are they law-breakers? God is the ultimate law giver; he says "31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD. 32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,". Those who fear God tend to keep a country's laws and pay taxes.

Also, if recently arrived foreigners believe in God, then why do they in large numbers appear to support those who oppose God?

In fact, if you would search the bible you would find that God has a history of using the more actively wicked to punish sinners.

By that same standard, weren't many of our ancestors also illegals? Oh wait, what this country did was perfectly legal and divinely justified according to Manifest Destiny.

Besides, the Israelites were given their land not because they were so righteous, but because of the sin of the people occupying the land (Deuteronomy 9:4-5).

Also, if recently arrived foreigners believe in God, then why do they in large numbers appear to support those who oppose God?

Good question, but see above. Even King David committed some horrible sins, but Israel remained God's people.

In fact, if you would search the bible you would find that God has a history of using the more actively wicked to punish sinners.

That was true in Old Testament times, but now, as recorded in II Peter 3:9, "God wants no one to perish, but all to repent." That includes, you, me, and all of those whom you describe above.

So are you representing that the Pilgrims, for example, willfully and knowingly broke the new host country’s rules against immigration?

“Even King David committed some horrible sins” - so are you asserting therefore that it is “OK” to willfully commit sins - after all, since God will likewise wink at willful lawbreakers?!!!

You say my question is a good one. But your answer doesn’t match up.

Hebrews 10
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

The Lord shall judge his people.

Since they were welcomed in, I would say no. Would you say that the slaughters, ethnic cleansing, broken treaties, etc. that occurred afterwards were sins at least as bad, if not more so, as the illegal immigration that is happening now?

“Even King David committed some horrible sins” - so are you asserting therefore that it is “OK” to willfully commit sins - after all, since God will likewise wink at willful lawbreakers?!!!

Funny you should infer that, since Israel was punished severely for the sins committed by King David and others. No, God does not "wink-wink" at sins, either illegal immigrants or current residents.

And remember, Jesus still descended from the line of Judah after all of that.

You say my question is a good one. But your answer doesn’t match up.

Of course it matches up, but not as you inferred it. Israel was punished, but Jesus still descended from one of the tribes.

Hebrews 10 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

I'm not sure what your disagreement with me here is, unless you think that only illegal immigrants will be punished for their sins. How about Romans 1:19-32, which talk about how God turned the sinners over to their sins including homosexuality. You sure that isn't what's happening here?
