This is an excellent read with lots to think about.
That's really not true at all. Just look at how wildly the Hispanic voting patterns have changed even in the last four presidential elections.
This is going to sound ridiculous, but I wonder if Romney would have done himself a huge favor in this election if he and Ryan had just gone out and spent several weeks learning to speak a little Spanish.

That’s just it,,,the mexiclowns are like locusts. They devastate 1 state, they move to another.
With conservatives flooding into TX at a rate equal or greater than the rate of Hispanics, there is no chance TX is in play anytime soon. A old, white, Mormon just beat the hero of Hispanics by 16 points. This is greater than McCains margin in 2008 and not too far from Bush’s victory in 2004.
“Reaching out” to low income Hispanics by the Repubs?
Well, trying to do so to the USA Blacks has not been a success.
With low income people, here&now freebies outweigh ideas/ethics/eventual better life via individual responsibility.
I know this first-hand. These immigrant groups have been a key to Conservative Party dominance in western Canada for years. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that one way conservatives appeal to them is by demonstrating how idiotic it is for Canada to be filled with so many slackers, Indians on welfare, etc. These immigrant groups have no patience for that kind of sh!t. In other words, these immigrants would absolutely love to get behind a Romney campaign if Romney had been vocal and proud of his "47%" comments.

My observation, at least in my neighborhood and surrounding areas, is that kids *don’t* walk to trick or treat. Their parents drive them. I didn’t have a single kid who arrived at my house on foot this year.
last fourth of July, we had no plans so we decided to head to a local lake outside of Raleigh for the afternoon. It was completely filled. We figured, ah, we can just pull over here at one of these inlet places and find a spot.
Holy crap. We walked down this path toward the lake. there were 100s of illegals (I am guessing). Trash everywhere. Families, extended families of ten or more. Loud barrio music blaring. I felt like I walked into a third world country. I have been in third world countries and NOT felt the feeling I was feeling there. I never felt so foreign in my own country.
I am back in Arizona now where I have resided for many years, with the exception of two years in NC. I have never seen anything like that in Arizona. I can't even exaggerate the scene to you.

And then we responded with Strom Thurmond, Nixon’s southern strategy, Reagan’s “welfare queens” and Pat Buchanan’s speech at the RNC (which killed off GOP’s landslide chances for good)
Heather is one of the smartest people on the planet when it comes to the immigration issue as it relates both politically and in terms of crime. Calling her a “surrender monkey” says more about your ignorance than anything else.
I think the opposite is true in many cases, like why we lost the "Cuban vote" in Florida this year. The first generation of immigrants really did believe in traditional family values and despised socialism after they escaped a communist hell hole. But the third generation Cuban Americans don't care about grandpa's life and think socialism is kewl and gay marriage is hip.
They don’t need too. Their votes are already being used.
Sounds like she read Jeb Bush in Parade magazine this past Sunday.

I believe you misunderstand Heather Mac Donald. She's just telling the GOP to forget about attracting Latinos. Check the link in the story. She's not telling the GOP to bribe them with amnesty and welfare programs. She's saying they're mostly hopeless.
