WVGOP HISTORIC WINS

Biggest House and Statewide Wins in 80 Years

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Republican Party will have more Delegates and Statewide elected officeholders than any year in the last 80 years. Period.

"Tonight, West Virginia made the move to a two-party state for the first time in over 80 years," said West Virginia Republican Chairman Conrad Lucas. "We gave folks tremendous choices up and down the ballot. Tonight, we added at least ten new Delegates, three new State Senators and elected the first Republican attorney general since 1928 in Patrick Morrisey. Allen Loughry is exactly the kind of man this state deserves on our highest court."

Republicans now have more members of the House of Delegates than since 1930, with 46 confirmed as of midnight. And, the Party added three new members of the State Senate.

"This is the first year of many more to come. Our conservative values, our support of our energy industries, our message that West Virginia won't be last at anything anymore carried the day," said Lucas. "Patrick Morrisey gives us a professional attorney general who will do all he can to protect our state from Washington, D.C. and the EPA. In Allen Loughry, we are blessed with a conservative judge who can help us end an era as the worst judicial hellhole in America."

"Our work has just begun, but tonight we've staked our claim to take back Charleston from the insiders and corrupt incumbent politicians who have controlled our capitol for so long," said Lucas. "The voters gave us a measure of their trust and confidence tonight. We will do everything can we can to earn it with our plan to clean up government and return it to citizens. Inarguably, West Virginia's political landscape has changed forever."

In light of that, the republican government of that state had better be prepared to do without coal mines and the income they produce for the state, and find ways to encourage other businesses.

What "...republican government..." are you talking about?
At present the GOP holds NO state-wide office. Next year the GOP will have ONLY the AG and ONE justice (of 5) on the state Supreme Court of Appeals.

Mind you, this state did not have a single county that supported Zer0.....(says a lot about the dysfunctionality of the WV GOP)

Take out the word republican then. And so it just reads “the government”, meaning the state government of wv :)

Tennessee now has super majorities in the House and Senate over 2/3 Republicans with a (mainly) Republican governor. Not that it matters, but Romney won by twenty points here. Thirty points in my county.

So it wasn’t all bad news in West VA. While the rat Governor, Senator and lone remaining Congressman won the GOP did post huge gains in the State House, gaining the most members since we last had the majority in 1929-1930 and leaving rats barely still in control. The State Senate remains strongly rat though.

Just as importantly the State elected a GOP Attorney General. Republican Pat Morrisey beat incumbent rat Darrell McGraw. McGraw had refused to sue over Obamacare and that cost him his job.

The rats had held that office since 1933.

With a narrow loss in the gubernatorial race and even closer one for Agriculture Commissioner Morrisey will be lone Republican in statewide (non judicial) office and join our 2 US Reps on the bench for higher office.

I’ll take this time to recap the other races for statewide constitutional offices that I just got around to looking up. It is not all as good as this.

In Montana where we have the Libertarian swine to thank for Tester’s reelection and the election of a new Rat Governor the rats on undercard didn’t need the extra help, taking over 50% except in the one race we won.

Republican Tim Fox won the Attorney General seat vacated by the rat Governor elect. So that’s 1 statewide office in Montana besides the US House seat. Up from zero, so yay. No Libertarian in that race.

The Incumbent rat Liaison to the NEA er I mean Superintendent of Public School Indoctrination “won” reelection by 2000 votes. No Libertarian in that race either.

No Republican in the race for Clerk of the Supreme Court. Where the rat won 57-43 over a Libertarian. About 40% of that vote being the straight ticket Republicans who had no candidate of their own.

In Indiana the Republican AG won reelection while the Republican School boss lost to NEA puppet candidate and I assume practicing Satanist Glenda Ritz. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

In North Dakota we won everything except the all important US Senate race of course. Hopefully someone strong takes out the new rat Senatrix next time.

In Missouri scandal plagued GOP Lt. Governor Peter Kinder won reelection and he was the our only statewide winner. The open SOS seat of spawn of Carnahan was won by the rat thanks to the Libertarian and Constitution parties. Rat incumbants won everything else with top prize going to party switching traitor scumbag AG Chris Koster who crushed Republican Ed Martin 55-40. Pathetic. Hey Republicans, the ballot doesn’t end after President.

In North Carolina the new GOP Governor will be joined by a LT Governor if he can survive a rat recount theft attempt. The rat candidate is a Black lady with blonde highlights in her hair and bright smile so I assume she is a huge *itch who will stop at nothing.

No other offices changed hands, incumbents of each party ran and won. The rat AG was unopposed, which is unacceptable.

Democrats far outpolled Republicans on the “straight party” ticket voting. The new GOP Governor should get rid of that law, I would enjoy the convenience myself but it only helps lazy democrats who would otherwise stop voting after the big offices.

In PA which oddly elects 3 state offices in Presidential years Rat Kathleen Kane by wide margin became the first of her species to win election to the office of Attorney General (it was an appointed office prior to the late 80’s). Booooo.

In the open race for state Auditor General the rat won with under 50%, thanks again Libertarians.

And the rat Treasurer won easily.

In Delaware democrats won landslides for Governor and their 2 other offices up this year. Republicans hold one statewide office that’s up in 2014. Another state that splits offices between cycles (Indiana and Missouri do this as well, PA is the only won that does it in “reverse” electing a Governor in a non-POTUS year).

Vermont the GOP LT Governor won reelection. The rats picked up the open State Auditor post (the rat incumbent had switched parties to Republican, that was a big surprise when it happened).

Utah, we kept everything. Rep. Matheson was the only rat holding a victory party.

And in Washington State where the Republican narrowly lost for Governor, bupkis. We had 2 statewide offices AG and SOS, they were open and picked up by the rats.

And not a statewide office but after late counting the man who was to become Speaker of the Florida House (they choose a new one every 2 years) was upset by a democrat. This event caused Floridian and liberal Politics1.com webmaster Ron Gunzburger to make happy in his pants.

So all in all just as crappy as everything else. We gained 3 downballot offices (NC LT Governor, WV and MT Attorneys General) and lost 5 (Indiana School Superind. VT Auditor, PA AG and Washington State AG and SOS)

I erred in this post, Republican Kim Wyman narrowly held the Washington State SOS office to keep us from being shut out of statewide office there. The last time that office elected a democrat was 1960. And the last GOP win before 1964 was in 1928.

For whatever good it will do, Sam Reed sure couldn’t help Governor-Elect Dino Rossi.
