I know that Catholics like to call themselves Christians, but I have to question their Christianity when they vote for someone whose stances are the opposite of what their church teaches. Sorry, to any Catholics on here who voted for Romney, but the numbers who didn’t vote for him tell the story. The same with evangelical Christians who voted for Obama - Its quite apparent they don’t know their Bible or if they do - they chose their 30 pieces of silver over the morals clearly laid down in the Word. Judases!!!

Perfectly stated! I’ve attached a link of a sermon my pastor gave the Sunday before the election. It is actually sermon 4 out of 5 on God and Government. He describes much of what you outlined.

The overwhelming majority of Catholics in the USA are lapsed Catholics. They do not go to Church on a regular basis and they don’t give a crap what the Pope thinks or not. They are Catholics only in a loose, cultural sense. I hear arguments are the time from people about how the Democrats won’t get the Catholic vote because of abortion, Obamacare, whatever. Note to everyone — Catholics in this country, by and large (yes, there are exceptions, of course), don’t give a crap if government policy violates the Bible, the Pope, or Vatican 2.
