**EXCLUSIVE** Senate Minority Leader: No Tax Hikes ("Read His Lips")
Breitbart ^ | 8 Nov 2012, 3:46 PM PDT | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 11/08/2012 7:23:57 PM PST by Red Steel

With conservatives across the country concerned about a rumored Republican cave-in in Washington, D.C. over tax policy, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is speaking out. Read his lips: no tax hikes.

McConnell said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News:

One issue I’ve never been conflicted about is taxes. I wasn’t sent to Washington to raise anybody’s taxes to pay for more wasteful spending and this election doesn’t change my principles. This election was a disappointment, without doubt, but let’s be clear about something: the House is still run by Republicans, and Republicans still maintain a robust minority in the Senate.

You know, sequestration may be the last, and only, chance there is to impose fiscal discipline on the government.

It’ll be painfull, but still better than allowing the Dems and Obama to run up the debt another $6 Trillion in the next four years.

And since it’s on an automatic trigger, the House is in a position to just let it happen. It’s a rare case of no need for action, no need for cooperation or compromise with Obama and the Dems.

Our “schools” have dummed our kids down, who are now voting by sound byte.

I was talking to the 11-yr old daughter of some aquaintances (liberal) about the election, and she blurted out, "I don't like Romney because he's going to take away women's rights."
The brainwashing is quite severe.

Boehner expects us to burn up the phone lines along with sending those faxes and emails showing our support for his statement. Then he can get all weepy while he stabs us in the back once again.

Well Gee, Mitch. If you actually won a couple Senate seats, you'd be in a position to do something. But instead you handed the GOP Senate campaign to that incompetent fool Cornyn, who completely screwed up. Now we have at least two more years of Harry Reid. Talk means nothing if you are too stupid and incompetent to be effective.

Right now, the 1%, small businesses (the rich) pay 60% of all taxes. If they raise taxes only on this group, it’ll be closer to 70%.

It’ll be in the best interest of the GOP to let all tax brackets go up.

It is in the best interest of the GOP that the economy craters due to obamacare and tax increases on small biz.

So they need to agree to something that leaves out middle class tax increases the dims can demagogue later. “The economy is bad now because of the evil GOP insisted on tax increases for the middle class”.

The main thing is any deal has to clearly be the OBAMA/DIM PLAN. This is all about 2014 now and clearing the dims out of the Senate. To do that we must go on offense and get a plan that does that. Boehner slobbering on Barry & Harry won’t get it done.

No negotiated deal until there is a scorable plan in writing from the WH!

It’s not just the kids that are dumbed down. I have a mother in her 70’s who firmly believes everything is congress’s fault. And if I hear her say both parties have to work together one more time I’m going to rip my hair out.

We ought to be rallying around our guys, imperfect as they are, to resist Obama.

Thank you for that moment of clarity. Yes, we have been disappointed in the past but pissin' and moanin' and being negative about it gets us nowhere. If and when a position like this is taken, we need to vociferously support it and if we get disappointed again, then piss and moan but not now.

And please note that my reply said that we need to vociferously support the position and whoever takes it. What I don’t mean is that we need to support the continued leadership position of these people that have disappointed us before.

In my mind these are two different issues. I will be the first to rant and rave about the need for new leadership but when the leadership we have takes a position that rock-ribbed conservative such as “NO NEW TAXES”.... we should support that position.

I was listening to Mark Levin’s show yesterday on the way home from work and he had on a lady named Heather MacDonald from the Manhattan Institute and she has studied this immigration problem very extensively and has come to the conclusion that Latino’s don’t vote democRAT because democRAT’s advocate open borders, the vote democRAT because the democRAT party gives them “free stuff”. She posits that “comprehensive immigration reform” that would advocate amnesty and open borders would only give the democRAT party more power with even more voters. If the republicans went along with this plan, it would get them NOTHING!

I think we need to start calling the democRAT party what it is...the “free stuff” party. Declare this everywhere. Make it a “slogan”. It is short and to the point and hopefully it will start to get through some thick skulls we have in our electorate.

They should give barry all the tax increases he wants. When the economy crashes Republicans can say that it was 100% Barrys idea.

Its what the voters want......give it to them.

“McConnel doesn’t understand that the constitution was swept away in Obamas first term. It no longer exists.”

McConnell may not understand it, but the U.S. military does, especially the officer corps. Their oath is to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I guess we’ll see how many officers put their honor before their careers. I would expect to see resignations of commissions, at the very least.

Replace Boehner with Senator Ron Johnson from WI!

He was our Tea Party candidate and ran his own businesses and is EXCELLENT with the numbers.

He also has the gonads to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Dingy Harry and Obama himself.

Buy her a copy of "Rules For Radicals" and ask her to point out all the similarities between Saul Alinsky's teachings and Osama Obama's recent campaign. And then, remind her that Osama got his start in "public service" as...a "community organizer".

Republican primary voters believe in the next guy’s turn, but with McC they think he should be permanent. And KY is convinced he is the best available.

The American people will always blame bad economic times on Republicans; have been doing so at least since Hoover. Their little minds can do little else.

I don’t know if Cornyn is an “incompetent fool,” but he may be. And I wonder if TX primary voters are smart enough to replace him. Cornyn had only one victory, in NE, and I wonder if he had any real impact there. People in TX don’t really know anything about Cornyn.

Yes, if you start adding up the list of Republican traitors, MS would be near the top of the list with their dear Trent. He was failure cubed.
