“No, conservatives refusing to vote for another big government liberal masquerading as a Republican.”

No, it was also conservative evangelicals that wouldn’t support a cult devotee that would use the Oval Office to preach Mormonisn. Also, as you say, Romney was never remotely a conservative.

BTW - I now have to live with the shame that I caved my principle at the last minute and voted for Romney. I am ashamed I did so.

Well, now they can pay for Sandra Fluke’s abortions.

Don’t worry, you’ll get over it. I felt the same way 12 years ago when I voted for GWB instead of my real choice, Pat Buchanan.

You have quite a flair for the dramatic. And a very creative imagination.

So the Evangelicals can’t live with a Mormon? How about a Catholic, a religious Jew? We As Conservatives, Republicans, whatever we call ourselves, need to stop with the petty religious titles. Was Mitt a conservative? No, not by a long shot, but what of the alternative? I didn’t like some of his previous positions, but I promise you I don’t like any of Obama’s, past or present.

If our base feels slighted because our nominee isn’t their flavor of Judeo/Christian, then we have a problem, as the Dems have no such qualms, and neither do the bulk of Americans.

I’m not saying we don’t need moral, ethical people in office, we do, we absolutely do. Personally, I don’t care whether my man is Protestant, Catholic, Sikh, Jewish, you name it. Does he care about this country and does he want it to improve? If yes, he probably has my vote.

Don't be ashamed as it was an act of absolute desperation. Many conservatives and good Americans did the same thing.

Where do people get this from? Did he do that as MA governor?

That BS that the republican establishment tried to use during the primaries to support Romney is still every bit as much BS now as it was then.
