Outraged over a teacher's alleged negative comments in class about President Obama has parents at Delcambre Elementary fighting back. The day after election day, Lindsey Shello's son told her his fourth grade teacher wore all black to school. He said the teacher told class she was attending America's funeral, because Barrack Obama was re-elected president.
"She made the comment that since Michelle Obama is first lady and with the meal plan she has, the kids are gonna look like toothpicks in a few months," said Shello.
Shello says the teacher also told the class, the US would become the new China because of Obama. Shocked at what her son told her, Shello posted her feelings on Facebook. This mother says the teacher wrote her a message saying she'd like to have a conversation with her and she shouldn't believe everything her 9-year-old son tells her.
"Her personal opinion needs to remain her personal opinion. She doesn't need to push it on the kids," said Shello.
Chassatey Jackson says her two children also told her the same story. Jackson doesn't think teachers should express their political beliefs in class.
"They want to believe everything their teacher says and if my kid hears the teacher say the sky is black, he's going to believe the sky is black because his teacher said it," said Jackson.
These parents want answers. They've reached out to the school board and Delcambre Elementary principal. We reached out as well, we were told Delcambe Elementary's principal was not in today. And the school board said the matter is under investigation.
"I think an apology is owed, but it's not owed from the school board," said Shello's mother Liz Shello-Walton.
We reached out to Louisiana Association of Educators to see if what these parents and students claim the teacher did is out of line? Executive Director Dr. Michael Walker-Jones says he would need to look at the case closely before giving the teacher a critique.
I actually agree - teachers should keep their personal political beliefs (left and right) out of the classroom.
What a joke. Kids in public school are bombarded DAILY with pro-liberal rants. So every once in a while, a non-moron speaks up, and people are outraged? Please, suck it
Me too, she should have been showing them how to put a condom on a banana.
“They want to believe everything their teacher says and if my kid hears the teacher say the sky is black, he’s going to believe the sky is black because his teacher said it,” said Jackson.”
Poor kid. Is he an idiot?
It’s OK that the hero worship of a Marxist President and constant drumbeat of socialism transform the poor kids, though.
I wonder what the teachers FR name is....
Oh hell, I just noticed your screen name AFTER I posted.
The Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt not criticize Dear Leader.
“I actually agree - teachers should keep their personal political beliefs (left and right) out of the classroom.”
The left won’t but we’ll be nice and politely step aside.
Chassatey? What kind of fricking name is that? Is it suppose to be Chastity?
It’s a time honored dictum - “no religion or politics”, even among adults. I had a few frank exchanges with my well known cohorts at lunch, at work, previous to the election, but when the election was over, the discussion was over. I guess from their point of view they’re letting me off easy!
“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.
The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.
The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”

This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out. It was translated into English from an article in the Prague newspaper
“Chassatey? What kind of fricking name is that? Is it suppose to be Chastity?”
Not too many chaste Obama supporters.
“She made the comment that since Michelle Obama is first lady and with the meal plan she has, the kids are gonna look like toothpicks in a few months,”
Ha! I’m sorry, but that’s pretty danged funny.
I do agree, though, that the teacher should have kept her personal feelings out of the classroom. I don’t doubt some of these “upset” parents wouldn’t be so upset if the teacher had come in black mourning a Romney victory. Nor am I naive enough to ignore the liberal views being pushed on kids in many public schools. Still, it wasn’t the right way for the teacher to deal with it.
That’s why the Czech Republic is on my short list of SHTF destinations.
HEY! It’s “chastity” by another name, ok? It’s freedom of naming, if you value freedom. To me, it’s clear cut.
I’m sure the Leftists would want her arrested.
Of course if she has tenure, she can’t be punished for saying out loud in class what she truly believes. That’s what tenure is supposed to protect, right?
I thought it's "Chaz" now.
She should have made up an “Obama is a Commie” song and taught it to them.
OH, NOES ! Poor lil darlins’ exposed to truth. Give the teacher a raise.
Wonder if these mom's ever heard or saw the video of the Stepford Children chanting "Barack Hussein Obama, mmmm...mmmm...mmmm....."
Or the ones recently singing the song about the terrible things that are going to happen if Romney gets elected.
Ex-com-bloc former warsaw pact countries “get it.”
She could probably be Obama’s daughter....
The name caught my attention too - once I saw that the rest of the article was just blah blah, blah blah blah.
I was laying on the couch tonight in a dead sleep pooped from the whole election insanity. I must have been in a daze since Tuesday night because I woke up out of a dead sleep with a violent jerk and sat up realizing that this country ACTUALLY reelected a total loser like BOzo instead of a qualified leader. I kept asking myself “ DID THIS REALLY HAPPEN?”

Is this an Amish name?
I seem to recall the person who originally made that statement was the either Romania’s new president or the editor of one of Romania’s largest newspapers. The statement made the rounds via the internet several times. Regardless of who originally said it, it is spot on the mark.
She shouldn’t have said the kids would look like toothpicks. Trees are killed to make toothpicks, oooohhh noooooooo...
Good Choice
Czech Republic has lots of tall, slender, beautiful blondes!
And good beer.
If she runs out of material.....call me!
You mean she can’t even comment on policy? She has to be a robot and do whatever she’s told without comment? That’s not American but then America is probably dead anyway.
Not until the sicko leftists stop pushing depravity on our kids. Until that happens, I say give every teacher who speaks truth a bonus.
I remember an English teacher I had in high school. A retired Army LTC actually. He hated FDR with a passion and let it be known. This was back in the early 1970’s. He was a good teacher. He knew his class was not headed off to college so he taught us about life we were fixing to face head on. When the class stopped listening out came Shakesphere LOL.
It certainly contains a meme that is useful as history rhymes along. Maybe there is a joke hidden in the name, and we don’t even know it.
My sister-in-law showed up for school in black also.
