America, A Quaint Memory....
Original Content | Nov 9, 2012 | By Laz A. Mataz

It appears the America I knew and loved will be a quaint memory.

By whatever means, the forces of the extreme left have undertaken, and apparently succeeded, in performing the coup de grace on a staggering nation.

The causes of their Presidential election-year victory are many. They include:

Fraud helped tip this election. While it is entertaining to think of ways to unseat the benefiters of such fraud, it is not likely to happen. The fraudulent results shall stand. And, the fraud will snowball, as those who benefit from the fraud make sure no laws can be enacted to prevent fraud. It will increase, and it does not appear there is any recourse to stop it.

Demographics helped tip this election. This is another unrelenting trend. Single mothers will not lessen any time soon, and these women tend to view government as a caretaker -- and so they look to Democrats. There is talk in the Republican camp of loosening immigration standards and, probably, amnesty for illegal aliens. Therefore, we will continue to see an inexorable rise in the number of Latinos in America. I say this without judgment, but merely as an observation. However, they vote predominantly Democrat.

And as our students are relentlessly taught morals and values that the extreme left holds dear, the adults who will stand by our side, and eventually replace us, will continue to add to the numbers of the extreme left citizenry.

What can we expect?

  1. A Republican party who, pointlessly, will shift far to the left. They will not capture any more votes than the Democrats, of course. But they will try.

  2. No more Republican Presidents, ever. George W. Bush is very likely the last Republican President you will see in your adult lifetimes.

  3. Congressmen and Senators will be increasingly Democrat, until, as in California, there will be a supermajority in both Houses of Congress. In short, American politics will become a single-party affair.

  4. Firearms ownership will be drastically curtailed, via a UN Treaty that will subvert, if not supercede, our Second Amendment. The world looks at America as an oddball, and the world wants our guns gone.

  5. We will be increasingly Socialist/Communist. Socialism and especially Communism destroys innovation, strips hope, and makes poverty universal.

I, your humble author, wish I had better news. I wish I had a solution to all this. I don't. Perhaps someone smarter than I can come up with an idea.

I will mention this: The solution must be Gramscian in nature, that would allow us to slowly subvert the forces of Marxism. Gramsci was a Marxist himself, and he came up with the concept of a 'political society' (which rules through force) and a 'civil society' (which rules through consent). The Marxists understood this and realized that the most powerful ideological shifts can only come by the will of the people. The failures of Nazi Germany and the USSR generally show the Marxists that force is a poor substitute for civil will. It should show us the same.

There are those among us I hear speaking of a complete collapse of the US economy as a solution -- a reset button, if you will. Does anyone seriously believe that a government that would follow would be MORE like the America of liberty and free enterprise that we yearn for? Remember, the citizenry (with great voter fraud help) voted Obama back into office after a miserable four-year leftist performance. Even without the voter fraud, there still remains fully half of America that holds the ideals of the left as sacrosanct. We can dismiss the 'reset button' idea as impractical and unlikely to achieve our goals.

Any solution we undertake will be and must be, multi-generational. We will not live to see its fruits. There must be a meeting of great minds to start determining a long term course that will help return our land to the liberty and the love of free enterprise we once had.

I do have some good news. It appears that the left is not choosing to kill its enemies, at least not yet. I hope they continue to remain nonviolent. If they have studied Gramsci well, they probably will remain nonviolent. Political force is ultimately self-defeating.

If that remains the case, we can still pursue our lives. We can raise our children, marry, laugh, love and honor our God, and enjoy and build the best life we can, albeit at a lower standard of living than we have had. I recommend that, while still searching for a solution to these issues, each and every one of you do this very thing. We have no control over the nation, ultimately (though we can impart our small spin) so enjoy your life to the fullest!

..brilliant,as usual--enjoyed your commentary for four election cycles

I see the root as to why things went wrong as spiritual not political. We had plenty of warnings.

This may get me banned, but I see the possibility of civil war coming. As I told a family member in Texas, perhaps the only solution is a Second Confederacy--this time they are in the right. That would be a great Tom Clancy novel.

Again, thank you and until they come and take us away--don't hold the mayo...

I say Long “Live our Republic” out of Respect for what she once was. I hate to think of her as dead.

Ok fine; it was hastily put together but I still find a lot of good nuggets in there.

I wonder sometimes If I will be like Jeb’s Dad in Red Dawn Yelling from Behind the Fence?

“AVENGE ME GIRLS AVENGE ME!!!”

Since I don’t have boys it will be up to my Daughters.

Civil war, no. Civil unrest, yes. We are far too 'marbled' for sides to emerge, other than the CW2 Cube that Travis McGee brilliantly explains.

[Some people were suggesting that conservatives move to red states...]

The trend we are seeing is liberals are migrating to red states to escape the crushing laws enacted by the politicians they elected.

It happened here in SC and is still happening, it’s how we got the likes of Leslie Graham. However, there may be a ray of optimism in this trend.

Things will become worse in the coming years and these liberals will realize, there is no state left to run to anymore because they have corrupted them all.

It’s then and only then that they will being saying to themselves...’what have we done’?

You clearly don't understand liberals. When they fail, they double down. Gun control doesn't work? DO IT MORE.

So, when liberalism is shown to fail, they will simply go more communist.

“I believe the fraud was the ELIMINATION of Republican votes.”

Roger that....also don’t forget the elimination of the military vote. Absentee ballots lost, delayed, etc.

Someone said that the military went half and half for PREZBO....I do not buy that for one second, if true, it is only due to the loss of most military ballots.

I believe what you are saying is, don’t spend your life shoveling sand against the tide when you can be enjoying the sun on the beach. I dig it.

That, to an extent, but also be prepared to run from the tsunami, because that is coming too.

Trav, you've said you don't believe that a Gramscian plan is reasonable at this point. You've pointed to the CW2 as the reason why, stating that it would be like the Czar and his advocates planning a long term solution while Lenin's troops came.

While I agree with that point on some levels, we are not one individual or small group, we are legion. I'd have to correct your thesis to 'it would be like one-half of Russia planning a long term solution while Lenin's troops came for the Czar.' Eventually, communism collapsed, and if they had some form of long term planning, they might have transitioned to democracy.

Hold on though. I see a hole in my argument. The system Lenin put in place was closed, if you had any liberty leanings you were removed, often gulaged. Our system was open, and communists could infiltrate with impunity.

I guess our sysem of openness is weaker. It allows the left to infiltrate, whereas leftist systems crush out any infiltrators.

Here’s somewhat of a history of attributions on that quote:

I’m pretty sure that’s a bogus internet quote, but no matter, it’s probably close enough to his thoughts.

“So why can’t we have on our ballots for each state the right to vote for independence(secession)?”

When Texas joined the union, it kept the right to secede. I don’t think any other state has that right, but I could be wrong about that.

[You clearly don’t understand liberals...]

Oh, I understand them alright, Laz but even they don’t see that they are nothing more than ‘tools’ being used by a communist agenda.

When the time comes when they are no longer needed they all will disappear along with the complicit media, black ‘leaders’, RINO’s, all newspaper media, Congress, (the new Politburo).

You can say, I CLEARLY don’t understand liberals, I expected that, but I do CLEARLY understand what can happen when we rely on our weak, fearful republicans who are more concerned about building on their pensions than protecting the Constitution.

When it’s time when THEIR oxes are gored, their simpering and anguish wailing will never be heard.

Laz

Chiming in late here. I agree with what you wrote. We have clearly passed the tipping point to socialism. My brother thought we had passed it several years ago. I knew the floodgates were creaking in 2000 when Bush narrowly beat Gore, and we managed to stave it of one last time in 2004 when the dems ran an unlikeable arrogant prick in Kerry. This was despite what I thought was the media’s best efforts to win the election. But now, it is clear that conservatism, as a national political philosophy, is dead.

Three things have all come together to kill conservatism. First, the American public has been dumbed down and conditioned to expect government to do everything for them, including doing their thinking. The takers outnumber the makers and the demographics have irretrievably shifted. Second, the media, which always leaned left, now knows that there is no accountability and they are openly agitating and propagandizing for the left. Third, because of both of the above, the left knows they can steal any election they want.

The GOP will be allowed to exist for a while as window-dressing. The left needs a convenient boogeyman while it cements its final control over the nation. But yes, it’s over.

I have voted in my last national election. It does not matter any more. For the time being, I live in a “red” state and will still vote in state and local elections. However, it is only a matter of time before the left begins the purge here, too.

So like you, I will hold my family and my Lord close. I will not cooperate with the statists to the extent possible. I will not fly the flag. I will not go watch “Red Dawn”. If the Chines or whoever invade, let them. I no longer have a country to fight for. It was already conquered from within so what do I care who it is that seeks to oppress me?

“The squish lost because he could not enthuse his base. Karl Rove, FOX News and the GOP-e ignored the tea party base (hell, kicked us in the teeth)...”

I don't think moderate Republicans realize what happened at the national convention. Those at a national convention are the top workers with the most influence in their state as regard to Party politics. These are active movers and shakers.

When Romney, his attorney, Sununu, and the national chairman, illegally called a vote passed on a rule that stripped conservatives from being delegates in the future and gave Romney the right to dump them and choose his own, conservatives howled on the floor of the convention but they were ignored.

From that moment on, Romney was toast but he was too dense to know it. He has pushed people around in business and thought he could do that with the Party. The mover and shaker conservatives went home and talked. Romney lost.
