It's no secret that the New York Times detests Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- in its news columns as well as on the editorial page. So it comes as no surprise that, after President Obama's second-term victory, the Times relishes the prospect of Bibi getting his comeuppance, big-time, from the White House.
In a post-election dispatch, Times Jerusalem bureau chief Jodi Rudoren eagerly reports that Netanyahu may have risked Israel's "collective relationship with Washington" by rejecting Obama's demands for concessions to the Palestinians and by showing a preference for Mitt Romney, a long-time friend of the prime minister.
"His strained relationship with Mr. Obama may prove more than a temporary political headache," Rudoren writes. She goes on to quote Israeli pollster Mitchell Barak, who opines that if as expected Netanyahu is returned to power in Israel's January elections, "we all know he is not the right guy" to deal with Obama. Piling on further, Rudoren darkly predicts new frictions with Obama because of Netanyahu's "hard line position on Iran." Plus, she adds, a second-term president, "freed from electoral concerns, may prove likelier to pursue his own path without worry about backlash from Washington's powerful and wealthy pro-Israel lobby."

If you think we in the U.S have it bad...just consider Israel’s predicament.
Place your bets.
That will make the Israel-hating Jews in NY very happy.
That’s ok. God has the last laugh here.
we are so screwed
LOL!
The only guys a wuss like obama “takes to the woodshed” are his dates
Now, giving Netanyahu an ipod loaded with obama speeches- THAT would be punishment
Israel has known for the last few years that they’ll probably have to go it alone against Iran. Now it’s confirmed. Question is will they take them out when they need to or when they are forced to.
BO may have won the day on Tuesday, but that doesnt make him any more of a leader than he was before Tuesday. Being a ‘President’ and being a ‘Leader’ are two different things. Obama will never be a Leader, but he does follow the orders of those around him quite well. I wonder who ordered him to abandon Ambassador Stephens?

Prayers for Bibi and his country.
Net is only about 100 times as intelligent as the t*rd,
We’ll see.
Imagine the Bungler of Benghazi making the calls during an Israel-Iran war. I shudder.
Or the calls during a Greek-style market collapse and currency crisis. Shudder again. This will not go well.
For those who have never heard Netanyahu, next time he’s scheduled to to on any talking head show make sure you tune in. The man is amazing. Wish we had some like him running things.
Let him try.
He doesn't have new momentum.
That is the reason for early parliamentary elections that will be held in Israel on 22 January 2013.
The last part should read "backlash from the American people". And again, the left's anti-Semitism exposed.
The Media machine as much as admits in this line that they helped to obfuscate Obummer's disdain for Bibi and Israel, as they spent all pre-election reporting what a great relationship they have. Not that any of us here are surprised.
yea, right.
And so it begins....
no, I don’t think so. I’d bet Israel does its own thing re: Iran w/o conferring with Obummer. Prayers lifted for Israel, and those of us here in the US who voted for Romney. God knows our hearts, that’s fer sure. And, once again, I can only imagine His sadness at those who say they are good Catholics or good Christians or good Jews yet voted for the man who hates our God, kills the unborn, promotes same-sex marriage, expresses greed and envy of the rich, and bows to the muslims. He is a God who is patient, but for only so long...
Plenty of US Jews will back him on this. I don’t understand why they feel the need to atone for sins Netanyahu didn’t commit.
LOL. Bibi has faced terrorist Muslims....Obamugabe will NOT intimidate him.
Spanky and his gang will not be taking Nethanyahu to the shed. In fact it will be the exact opposite.
Watch and learn how Obama needs to be handled.
Dear Ben:
We here at the Rebel Alliance, in the United States have your back. We love You and Israel. Times are not looking good, but know it, Ben, God is on your side. We are with you Ben!
Sincerely,
Rebel Alliance, USA
Bibi (and Israelis in general) will always know that the great majority of Americans support them and their quest for a peaceful coexistence in the ME.
I have a feeling when they walk out of the woodshed Obama will be the one walking funny.
Where’s that picture of Bibi in his Air Force flight suit next to Barry girly-cringing at the sight of a karate demo?
Netanyahu isn’t the type to be taken to the woodshed.
Not by this cowardly pr*ck we have as President.
Basically what I was going to post, except that while Obie may take Bibi to the woodshed, I’d wager that Bibi is the only person who returns.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah right!
I can just imagine some cowardly little sniveling arrogant teenager taking his tough old grandfather “to the woodshed”.
Right.
Absolutely correct. The Obama administration long ago came to accept the concept of a nuclear armed Iran. So far they have been able to muzzle Netanyahu. They would prefer to be rid of this pesky fellow.
“You’ll walk over, but you’ll limp back.”
IMO - The timeline for Israel’s action to protect itself from Iranian nukes has just moved up. Israel no longer has to coordinate with anyone about planning the strike.
Israel might enter talks to get tanker/refuel or overflight coordination, but I doubt it. That might be too risky - as plans would be exposed.
Godspeed Israel.
And the Lion of Judah will take all y’all to the biggest woodshed that ever existed. Good luck with that.
F... Barack Hussein Obama!
Bibi, you have the support of 48% of Americans and we say, go protect one of the last vestigages of freedom in the world.
May God protect and bless all who serve for freedom.
Get some, Bibi.
There is much he can do to punish Bibi. In fact, with Obama's support of the Arab Spring and shipping arms to Al Qaida, he has already done plenty to endanger Israel...and think of the 20,000 missing MANPADS in Libya.
Looking back at 5000 years of history, whenever someone has backed Israel into a corner that way, things have not ended well for them.
I remember BOzo thinking he was going to take Bibi to the woodshed on tv. BOzo ended up humiliated. Ultimately, God has Israel’s back and against all earthly odds she will remain. We’re slitting our own throats if we’re counted amoungst Israel’s enemies.
Yep, perhaps we may see some arab spring style protesting too. Hopefully, isreal will keep its borders tight before code pink and friends show up nearby to start trouble. They are probably in PA territory as we speak
What can 48% of us do when the Muslim will support his brethren as he said in his book. I despair for Israel and the demise of a free America. God save us all. The lazy, entitled and the self hating Jews in this country will stand by and watch it all.
Bibi to Obama:
“If you want to posture for your audience, don’t wait for me.”
Bibi can kill Obama with one hand.
Well, you are correct in that 48% of us can mainly only give moral support. I have been contemplating what it would take to move to Israel and become an Israeli citizen. I would rather fight and die for a country and a cause I believe in then live in a country that has abandoned all that I believe in.
Of course, moving to Israel is probably just a dream and I will have to eek out survival here. In the end, God will protect Israel. God will ultimately save us, if we call on the name of his son, Jesus. It’s just sad to see the America I once loved and defended commit suicide on the sword of socialism.
As a side note, and admittedly an extreme side note, but there are commanders in various posts who believe as we do and may, I say may, commit troops or intelligence or whatever, against orders, to protect Israel. Admittedly, it’s a small outside possibility, but any and every aid to Israel will not be over looked by God.
spot on!
Satan won’t let him....
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither
slumber nor sleep. - Psalms 121:4 (KJV)
Israel will prevail. If I was Bibi I would publicly let Dear Leader have it ! And for the NYT, may they go out of business.
