For Republicans unhappy with Tuesday's election, we have good news—at least most of you don't live in California. Not only did Democrats there win voter approval to raise the top tax rate to 13.3%, but they also received a huge surprise—a legislative supermajority. Look out below.

I wouldn’t count on that. The federal government has a track record of bailing out and/or funding almost anything.
Nothing on earth could induce me to move there of do business with a Cal concern.

I don't believe it. The Marxist Obama and his agents will find a way to pay California. They may not call it a bailout. They may call it infrastructure investment, green energy, renewal or whatever, but we will all end up paying Obama's moonies.
Just because they raised the tax rate doesn’t mean that tax revenues are going to catch up with the spending. So the US taxpayer is not off the hook for CA’s debts. Plus..the Rat majority in the legislature will be dreaming up ways to get more illegals and minorities of the dole..automatically costing you more.
Yeah, we may have to defend yet another border.
Too late for Colorado since we have gotten more liberal due to these transplants from CA and some from the East Coast.

Where did you ever get this idea? Do you really think that increasing taxes will EVER satisfy the insatiable greed of government and government union employees? My guess is that the increase in tax rate will DECREASE the actual revenue as the productive citizens leave the state and find ways to protect their incomes from the rapacious thieves in Scramento. And 0bama will not hesitate to spend your money to bail out has supporters in the Peoples' Democracy of Kalifornistan when they claim their revenues fell under their projections (oddly enough I'm sure their spending will greatly exceed their projections)
Now all the Californians who moved here to Idaho to “change things” can move back.

I live here, and so does my family.
I am from the East Coast originally, and understand red state mentality, which I have here.
The bottom line is that there are millions of third worlders. Plain and simple. It is over here, done. I am listing my home next week with a Realtor. People here do not and are encouraged to NOT speak English and are ENCOURAGED to go on Social Services (Section 8, food stamps, AFDC, TANF, job fairs, college grants, Obamaphones...they have billboard signs in the barrio and ghetto ASKING people to sign up - courtesy of the taxpayer).

My taxes (small biz) just went up 2% retroactively to January 2012 for the “children” - (they used an apple in the Prop. 30 ads). This is to backfill State pensions and healthcare costs.
They will not stop. It’s over. I am looking for work now out of state.

Oh he may try, the only problem is with a State that size taxpayers don’t have that kind of money, and it’s doubtful we can borrow that kind of money through treasury sales, unless helicopter Ben steps in.
1)California will demand that it be rescued by the government to prevent it from turning into a zone or anarchy,or a disgrace to America, and to prevent a world-wide financial panic.
2) The United States treasury will be authorized to make a direct loan to the state so that interest payments can be resumed. This will done with money created out of thin air by the Fed.This money will be taken from the taxpayer through the loss of purchasing power.
3) There will be austerity programs for California, and a systematic repayment schedule,but none of these will be honored.
4)And California will continue to be a welfare/libtard utopia.
If you live in CA, better get out while u can. I would no be surprised if
CA enacts an exit tax soon.
I live in Riverside County, Southern CA. We went republican this time..usually do, after losing to Obama in 2008 and Clinton in 2002.
That being said, I’m out of here. Putting house on market before end of year and going where people who think like me live. Housing will probably drop 25% over the next 3 years.
Not a native kalifornian, so those in other states need not be afraid.

There are lots of part of California that are very nice places to live despite the RATs. I for one, am glad that the “majority” is now absolute because we will see very quickly that they will financially crash the state and the idiots who voted for them will suffer greatly!

Glad you expanded on your post, because the first part above would raise a lot of eyebrows.
You won't see because the media will do everything in their power to cover it up. And the idiots that voted for them are probably NOT the people who are going to get it in the shorts.
If conservatives were like liberals, they would push for the most extreme and use the oppression without mercy against citizens until the beast poisoned itself.
For example, when we came up with protection of schools from gang members attending and hurting kids, leftists came up with “zero tolerance” where if a child even draws a war scene, he is kicked out of school.
Anyone who has the resources and the opportunity to get out is already headed for the border. The ones who don't have to pay for it will continue to stream in to take advantage of the "free stuff". The result is more demand for more government with fewer people to pay for it.
They’ll move on and continue the destruction like locusts. Upper middle class liberals tend to move out of areas they destroy and then continue voting liberal. There’s an endless supply of Philadelphia escapees in my relatively conservative county supporting Democrats.

We need a new proposition next voting cycle to prohibit all toll roads. And a complete takeover of the private toll road with no payoff. Who in the hell does this State belong to anyway? F government.

If I were you, I wouldn’t take any bets on that position.
Interesting fact, such a change is prohibited to criminal law, as per the deciding of Caldur v. Bull:
I will state what laws I consider ex post facto laws, within the words and the intent of the prohibition. 1st. Every law that makes an action done before the passing of the law, and which was innocent when done, criminal; and punishes such action. 2d. Every law that aggravates a crime, makes it greater than it was, when committed. 3d. Every law that changes the punishment, and inflicts a greater punishment, than the law annexed to the crime, when committed. 4th. Every law that alters the legal rules of evidence, and receives less, or different, testimony, than the law required at the time of the commission of the offence, in order to convict the offender. All these, and similar laws, are manifestly unjust and oppressive.
So then to be changed in such an ex post facto manner, the taxes must be civil in nature and not criminal; the violation thereof then cannot be held in a criminal court, for criminal laws cannot be ex post facto, and thus you may demand a jury trial under the 7th amendment as the value in the controversy is greater than $20.
This leads us to a place where we can have jurors nullify tax-debts, no?
And for those few remaining productive members of the state, try to get some of the government "freebies" to drain the state's money.

Conservative turns out to be a relative term on FR. I've had discussions with fellow freepers who claim to be conservative who were all in favor of background checks for firearms purchases, semi-auto bans etc. I ran across a freeper (yesterday) who called me a

Apparently the jackass who probably considers himself a "conservative" thinks it's ok for the government to swell the number of leeches on the dole so as to increase dependency on government. So depending on just what you consider to be the definition of a conservative I may or may not agree with criticalj and want you to stay just where you are. Particularly if you're coming from New York or MA. A conservative from these places would probably fit the definition of a moderate here in the south.
