Karl Rove claims President Obama won reelection by 'suppressing the vote'

The Republican super-strategist was feeling the heat after his shadowy political committees burned through $100 million on anti-Obama attack ads — to little effect.

Republican super-strategist Karl Rove tried to shift blame Thursday for his failed spending spree to defeat President Obama, claiming Obama won reelection by “suppressing the vote.”

Rove was feeling the heat after his shadowy political committees burned through $100 million on anti-Obama attack ads — to little effect.

Obama’s top strategist, David Axelrod, joined the piling on Thursday, chortling that if he were one of the Republican benefactors who bankrolled Rove, he’d be “asking where my refund is.”

[snip]

Rove was the brains behind several Super PACs — private groups that can spend unlimited money on political ads — that spent heavily to defeat Democrats, including more than $100 million on ads bashing Obama.

Appearing Thursday on Fox News, Rove insisted that Obama won because he “succeeded in suppressing the vote” with negative ads “that turned off” voters, keeping them from the polls.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly didn’t buy it, interrupting Rove by saying, “But he won, Karl, he won!”

Hopefully this will be the last election where anyone in the GOP takes Rove seriously.

Actually the loss was the sole responsibility
of Rove and Romney and their (McCain) Team.

They attacked conservatives, isolated Gov. Palin
and would not even let her speak at the Convention.
And it cost the election.

Backstabber Rove, however, is 50 million
to 200 million dollars
richer, so he is EAGER to do it again.

Rush was singing this same song yesterday. The ads did not suppress the vote, the takers outvoted the givers (workers). Just give this Tincture of Time and the truth will have to slap these takers up the side of the head. Unfortunately the rest of us will have to suffer too.

To Karl Rove’s credit, and this is odd for a republican politican, at least he likes to win.

Doesn’t matter. Rove and Axelrod are on the same team. I am enjoying the show. They amuse me.

> ...”Suppressing the vote”

That makes sense because one can usually tell what the libs/Dems are up to by observing what they are falsely accusing others of doing. As a matter of fact this is a reliable “tell” of their own plans.

Rove has been thoroughly discredited as a political guru and the fact that he blew around 100 million through his PAC means we won’t be seeing his mug on TV that much anymore. Even the establishment can’t put up with this loser. He and Dick Morris need to get out of our faces. Neither one of them could predict the winner of a one horse race.

5thGenTexan claims Karl Rove suppressed the vote by helping to foist a RINO on the conservative base once too many times.

Hopefully this will be the last election where anyone in the GOP takes Rove seriously.

At least as seriously as Dick Morris.

Truer words were never spoken, and I commend you. Rush Limbauh has been talking about 3 million lost votes shown by the post election analysis, talking about them as if they comprised the lost 13th tribe of Israel.

The fact is that the Tea Party must take over the GOP, or begin a 3rd Party.

Eff Karl Rove, that closet liberal has wedged his last poll
and needs to join Raiders of the Lost Arc Progressives supported by an equally mufti of poofterism, Dick Morris, who predicted a Romney win with an electoral college vote of 325.

Sarah Palin must fight the GOP and energize the Tea Leaves. Let the crotch kicking commence and damn the undecideds.

Exactly.

And I know Rove enriched himself, presumably by millions, but I don’t think could have been by that much.

Yep, but your forgot to credit Drudge speaking for the gay GOP, the rest of Fox News day staff, Ann Coulter and the lying creeps on the Beck channel who pushed Romney..no forced Romney, on a nation of conservatives that wanted anyone..anyone but Romney. Flat out, it was arrogant NY/DC political coalition stupid group-think, now to be know in the future as GOPe.."we think we are too smart for America"...dumb-think.

He’s right.

The election was basically lost where republicans were thrown out of the polling places filled with black panthers, and where there seems to have been unlimited ballot stuffing.

Not rocket science.

common sense says they suppressed the vote and added to the vote [by any means necessary]. There are no more boundary lines in anything. Cheating and stealing is a way of life for commies.

Rove is intellectually dysfunctional, and long has been. He understands past voting patterns & chases after them. He is utterly--utterly--unable to perceive how to actually change people's opinions on issues. Thus he advised Bush to do just about every thing that later backfired on the Republicans, because while popular at the moment, it was simply unsound, and should have been exposed, not promoted.. He is simply clueless.

See Rove--Dysron, Quack or Mole?.
