Private donations are nothing more than unwanted competition with those providing meals through government contract at exhorbitant prices. Concern for salt and fat content is a canard.

Our family donated $500 and gave blood to help NYers when 9/11 hit. Now they can go F*ck themselves - you get the government you deserve - elections have consequences.

I would do the same in that instance but I guess I couldn’t if I lived in that paradise of NYC.

In NYC I would give them a map to Gracie Mansion so they could go enmasse and panhandle Mr. Mayor in person and to his embarassment.

Of course, he wouldn’t give them the same respect he gave to the OWSers; would probably have the boys in blue run them out with tear gas and the mounted horse patrols.

If they die of starvation then he can claim he cleaned up the city.

Libs and 52% of Americans don’t want the homeless feed.

It’s about power not humnaity

When one of my kids was in 8th grade, she had to write some kind of report on WW2, she chose the camps. So we went to the local library (I lived in a serious backwater location) and got out every book they had on the camps. This was mid 80s, the titles I remember were Babi Yar, Anus Mundi, Sobibor, Treblinka, Dora - there were a few more. I stayed up late for many nights reading every word.

When I finished, my over riding thought was:

It WILL happen again. No doubt about it. People are much worse now then they were then.

Worse? Perhaps. I’m inclined to think no different.

I think they’re worse. Cultural rot, destruction of families and decent traditions, all over the world. Just the illegitimacy rates are enough to do it. Feral subhuamns “raised” by single sluts in all the “civilized” countries.

That actually was one of the main reasons why Arjuna did not want to fight the Kurukshetra War - the widowed women would have no protection and would become degraded and have illegitimate children, and society would thus be ruined.
