The biographer for resigning CIA Director David Petraeus is under FBI investigation for improperly trying to access his email and possibly gaining access to classified information, law enforcement officials told NBC News on Friday.
Paula Broadwell is the author of Petraeus' biography, "All In." She had extensive access to Petraeus in Afghanistan and has given numerous television interviews speaking about him.
Petraeus resigned Friday, citing an extramarital affair. The woman involved was not identified.

He had an affair. Because those things can lead to blackmail, he had to resign. He did the right thing.
He was widely known as a man of integrity, prior to this. I still think he was. If he resigned to avoid testifying under oath, that is more behavior I would expect of a political coward, not a military hero. I think it more likely that someone threatened to out him about his affair if he didn’t slant his testimony to benefit Obama. So he resigned and outed himself. If so, he can now testify and rebuild his integrity.

Patraeus has been head of CIA for a little more than a year. How did the vetting process miss this major faux pau. Perhaps they knew and took a page out of the Clinton Playbook for future insurance.

I'm not rich, but I'd bet the farm that this whole scenario was known BEFORE the election and someone either told the FBI to hold off or ordered Patreus to wait until after the elections to do the "honorable thing," which of course, the corrupt, Chicago-thug, Regime, thought (and they may get away with it) that this would keep him from testifying.
PS: In spite of all of the Lame Stream Media reporting that he won't testify, I've yet to hear if this was his decision, whether the House removed his as a witness or the White Hut is telling Congress that he won't be available now that he is no longer DCI?

The Democratic leader of the Senate Intelligence Committee said Monday that the White House appears to be responsible for some highly criticized leaks of classified information in recent months.
“I think the White House has to understand that some of this is coming from their ranks,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein told a World Affairs Council forum.
It appears Petraeus and Ms. Broadwell were very busy researching her lady parts. Men are really stupid.
And the FBI was investigating him, according to Fox....very curious. Then he gave his bizarre testimony blaming the video for Benghazi. The White House could have been blackmailing him to give that testimony. However, he must have been unwilling to lie under oath to Issa’s committee, so he had to pull the plug on this or they would have.
Issa should subpoena him and make him testify. We are entitled to know if the Chicago thugs forced his video testimony to mislead the people.

I agree with you-he was threatened with exposure unless he lied to congress about Benghazi. But if he tells the truth about what happened, he will lose his retirement. The government and Obama presidency will seek revnge on him that way. He’s in a lose/lose situation. And just why did Obama pull him back from Aphganistan and put him in CIA in the first place?
The possibilities are endless here. Suppose this was Petraeus’ bluff to avoid BS closed-door hearings and out a mole. Just thinking out loud, but for the life of me, I cannot understand why Paula, her husband, MIL, et al, haven’t begun scrubbing public social media accounts.

They can demote him and mess with his retirement. He can write a book and make the money to replace his retirement. But I think it would devastate him personally. I just hope he remains the man of integrity that I believe he is, his infidelity notwithstanding.
