Boehner's GOP Problems Complicate Deficit Negotiations (Stop "negotiations" and let it crash)
ABC ^ | 11/10/2012 | By JOHN PARKINSON

House Speaker John Boehner is about to begin another attempt at a grand bargain deficit reduction deal with President Obama, a high wire act in which he will be buffeted by demands from the White House as well as from House Republicans.

The difficulty of keeping in step with the hard line approach of his fellow Republicans has been on view since the presidential election.

On Thursday, Boehner told ABC News' Diane Sawyer that repealing Obamacare was no longer his party's strategy saying, "Obamacare is the law of the land" and the election settled the dispute over repeal.

Shortly after his comment was aired, Boehner put out a tweet saying, "ObamaCare is law of the land, but it is raising costs & threatening jobs. Our goal has been, and will remain, #fullrepeal."

During that interview, the Speaker also told Sawyer that comprehensive immigration reform is a top priority in his legislative agenda during the next Congress. Republicans within his conference, like Rep. John Fleming, were livid.

“Negotiations” over the past 80 years have brought us to national bankruptcy and imminent massive social unrest when the bennies stop flowing.

How I wish our “leaders” had balls.

Certainly. We have to suffer some time. Let’s do it while the democrats get the blame. That’s one bright—or not totally dim—spot in the elections: conservatives can no longer be blamed for events that are inevitable.

Is it too late to get rid of this idiot as speaker? Anyone else stepping up to the plate?

Its all up to the GOP House now, according to the media. They need to "negotiate". Any negative results & ramifications belong to them. The Kenyan Kommie & democrats remain pristine.

What a surprise.

Boehner has no right to be Speaker. His lousy state never gives the Republicans a win, so why is he a “leader”? Lead your own state first, and then you can lead others. No one who comes from an Obama state should be in a leadership post.

If there are any real Republicans in the House (and that remains to be seen) their biggest job is to keep Boehner from giving away the store until they can replace him with almost anyone else.

Just about any Reublican in the House would be better than what we have now for Speaker.

After looking at all the facts and fraud and wondering why the Republicans do nothing, I do wonder if this is not a “rope a dope” strategy. If Romney got in, would he be able to fix things? Perhaps a little, but we would go back to partisan bickering and party line votes and be back in the same place, just a few more years out.

There are some animals that if given enough food will eat themselves to death. We all know socialism/communism fails, we all know Keynesian economics fails as well. So now they own this, we should give them everything they want, all the rope they need. The sooner the system collapses, the sooner we can rebuild with proper capitalistic principles, without the encumbrances by the left idiocy. This will be painful, but that seems to be the only way to educate the masses.

Bingo. This is the trope from the mainstream media (you know, that place where the majority of Americans get their information from); the GOP wants to work with President Obama, but extremists hell-bent on destroying the United States of America, the Tea Party Caucus specifically, refuses to negotiate anything owing to their ideological extremism. That's exactly how the MSM is going to spin it (along with the White House and the Democratic Party as well). And the American voter, currently busy watching "American Idol" and "Dancing With The Stars" or whatever, will certainly remember the GOP and their determination to destroy the USA. For you 'Star Trek' fanboys (and fangirls!) this is your Kobayashi Maru. The no-win scenario, the Hobson's Choice. And yes, they do happen in real life......especially in politics. "Let it burn!" you say.....by all means, but remember, the GOP will be blamed directly, NOT President Obama or the Democrats. And if you have in mind such silliness as "Well, no-one listens to the MSM anymore!" I'd like to ask you who's the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue until 2016? On the other hand, if the GOP leadership compromises, well, they can kiss a large segment of the conservative base goodbye. Like I said, this is the GOP's Kobayashi Maru. Times like this make me quite content to be a humble English teacher. Good luck in 2014.

I wonder how much longer that Conservatives will see that they are considered by the GOP as useful idiots that are only useful to get Republicans elected and then are no longer useful.

Everything we all just voted for is going to be flushed down the toilet by the people you supported and elected. We all just have to shut up and take it, because the very same two parties know that the things that we actually want will put them out of business if enacted— and that ain’t ever gonna happen.

I went Independent after 2008, but I continued to vote mostly for Republicans “because they had a chance of winning.” What good is it for us if the people we vote for win and then betray us EVERY SINGLE TIME?

This was my last wasted vote for things I didn’t believe would actually happen, anyway.

The GOP can go to hell.

I’ll admit that the crying and blubbering is getting old; as well as the golf dates with Obama (I’ll admit, I don’t know how many he’s had.) - I can understand the crying ONCE, but now is the time for it to STOP! - Will someone please show Boehner a map showing the red counties that reveal the truth; the cesspool cities on the very fringe coasts of this country gave Obama his “victory”. - Tell him to vote “present” and let the Democrats have their way without the help of RINO votes which only give the Democrats “bipartisan” cover for crashing and ruining this country! No one has been more “friendly” to illegal immigrants than McCain; look where that got him.

No one is stepping up to the plate and it’s not because John has a stranglehold on the congress like Pelosi did - NO ONE WANTS THE %$#! JOB.

Any of you Boehner bashing bozos want his job then run for congress... else try a little support or constructive help, or better yet how about bashing Obama and Reid = the ones who really are the bad actors here.

Why is everybody teeing off on Boehner? If he is the elected speaker he is the only leader we have in government. Why do you want to shoot our only leader?

That being said, Reid had promised that the senate would not be able to work with Romney if elected. I think Boehner should take the position that he is going to run the house exactly the way that Reid runs the senate. If Reid won't compromise, neither will Boehner.
No increase in the debt ceiling, let all non essential government services be shut down. If their are not essential we can't afford them. Do this until a legitimate budget is passed. Fiscal cliff is just what is needed to focus everyone's attention.

The fiscal cliff is minor compared to sequestration which is very minor compared to the Armageddon of the national debt.
