Many Germans have a screwy idea of what the U.S. is like. My ex-girl friend’s sister married a German doctor and lives in Germany. Some years back her sister was going to visit us. We liv in western Wisconsin. She was going to fly to Milwaukee, rent a car, and drive across the state to where we lived. Her German doctor husband ruled that out because he said it was too dangerous. Why? Was he worried about traffic accidents? No, he ruled it out because American motorists were constantly shooting at other cars and killing other motorists. Complete slaughter on American highways by gun-toting, wild west killers. And this guy was a doctor.
Absolutely NOTHING matters except PR. That’s a godless philosophy, and it is exactly how Democrats think - and they think they can ALWAYS control the PR.We have a tremendous education problem on our hands to get people to be willing to see past the PR. How do we do that? We certainly can’t expect Karl Rove to do it; he’s far too busy preventing us from nominating a Reagan type who would be effective in that educational effort.

Some of present generation Germans are resentful of America and its power after WWII. They want to see a weakened America. Some even compare the way the American Indians were treated by the U.S. government is comparable to the murdering of Jews in WWI and WWII. Supporting Obama is the same as supporting the decline of American power at home and throughout the world.

Oddly enough Der Spiegel strives to claim that it has a moral compass regarding America. really a moral compass for a counry that it is destitute and that much closer to junk heap of financial collapse. Yes I kow germany is fitting the bill for other parts of Europe, but how is that working out in Greece, Spain and Portugal. Keep spreading what little wealth that Germany has. maybe it is time the American people ask for the money back from Europe for the Marshall Plan and obtain reparations from Germany. Guess what Germany has finally paid up its reparations to other European nations for World war I . yes that is right WWI reparations by Germany has been paid in full in 2012.
