When Mitt Romneys staffers tried to take cabs home after the Republican presidential nominees election night concession speech, they discovered a problem. According to NBC, the Romney campaign cancelled staffers campaign credit cards in the middle of the night.
NBC went on to report about the disassembling of the Romney campaign but the anecdote about the credit cards has gone viral, getting picked up by the likes of Esquire and Forbes.
Its not the only bit of quirky trivia reported on in the post-election coffee buzz. The Boston Globe discovered that Romney planned an eight-minute fireworks display over the Boston Harbor as part of his victory celebration. The Globes Glen Johnson reported, The Romney show had a patriotic theme, heavy on red, white, and blue colors, and featured crowd-pleasing large chrysanthemum bursts. After Romneys concession, the show that never happened got dismantled and returned to the fireworks company.

Wow.........must be a slow news day.........
If the Romney campaign hadn't canceled those credit cards, they'd be reporting on Romney spending campaign money after the election was over and how questionable that spending was. There would be many hints as to its probable illegality.
There are strict rules which cover the use of campaign funds. The honest candidates I know follow them to the letter of the law. Had he not shut the campaign and everything associated with it, the media would also have had a heyday with it. No way for honest people to win.
Unlike the Obutthead campaign which kept its credit cards open for the trips to every Chitown bar they could go to...whoopee.
In this afternoon's email inbox:
Ann and I cannot thank you enough for supporting and believing in our cause.
This was more than just a campaign -- this was a national movement.
Thank you for the work that you did -- going across neighborhoods to knock on doors and put up yard signs. Thanks for making phone calls, coming to rallies, donating funds, and convincing friends and family to join our team.
What's really inspiring is that you came together because you care about America.
We still believe that better days are ahead. It's up to us to rally together to renew America's promise and restore American greatness.
From the bottom of our hearts, Ann and I thank you for your support, prayers, efforts, and vote. We are forever grateful to each and every one of you.
Today's a new day. Keep believing in America.
Thank you and God bless America,
Mitt and Ann Romney
I seriously doubt this story is true. I had a family member that was well connected to the inside circle of the Romney campaign.
He states that this story is false. Romney is a very generous person.
It’s Time to Dismantle Air Romney

After Election Day, the work of tearing down a presidential campaign begins. Field offices are dismantled. Bunting and balloons are junked. And a small company in Michigan gets back its airplane. After the Republican National Convention, Mitt Romney toured the country in a personalized McDonnell Douglas MD-83. The tail fin sported his logo and the headrest on his seat was embroidered with The Gov. The plane is operated by USA Jet Airlines, a subsidiary of privately held Active Aero Group, with headquarters in Belleville, Mich. Before another client can fly tail number N949NS, it must first be de-Romneyized....
Wouldn’t surprise me. Despite the loss, the MSM/Dems will continue to go after Romney because they see him as a threat.
Well, America fired Romney’s staff.
The campaign was over.
They shouldn’t criticize Romney.
Because of you I checked my email.
I have received a thank you email also!!!!
How sweet :)
(I’m tearing up again....)
I read that as "I'm tearing [it] up again...", as in rip-rip, but them I'm taking the results hard. I'm bitter. And Fearful...
Remember the 10 felonies rule.
You create so many rules and laws that everyone commits 10 felonies per day....If they want you in jail, they easily have the grounds to arrest you.
Thank you, that’s great to see. God Bless them. I came to see that they are good, decent people who love America. I already knew that about Ryan. What a tragedy that an electorate so misled and shallow could not see what this country needed.
I know what you mean.
I’m praying for a miracle. It’s about the only positive thing I can think of right now.
Maybe the staffers were not so loyal if they are going to the commie press with this story in an effort to smear Romney. As usual.
Jim wrote: Not personal, just business. Hope all his loyal staffers got home ok.
Which side of your post is the joke, or are neither/both?
