Same here today. People were buying armloads of ammo and the AR section of the gun area was packed. I’d like to own an AR but am not going to buy it new because of the registration issues.

Nice try Barry. We still have the majority in the Congress.

Not gonna happen.

If it even looks like it might I’ll get a few so called scary weapons in advance.

Just ‘cuz...

Here’s the work around:

“My belief is that, (A), we have to enforce the laws we’ve already got, make sure that we’re keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, those who are mentally ill. We’ve done a much better job in terms of background checks, but we’ve got more to do when it comes to enforcement.”

They’ll just make you a mental misfit and voila’! You can’t own a gun.

I don’t trust anybody anymore.

Boehner is flopping all over the place like a fish out of water to give O-THUG what he wants. I predict Boehner will follow Christie Creme’s little lovefest with O-THUg shortly.

No worries, mates.

The Supremes would never, ever let this happen.

In fact, just wait until Chief Justice John Roberts gets a chance to ... oh, wait a minute...

Okay, worry.

I lost all of my weapons in the big duck hunting incident.

Guns? What guns?

Funny and Romney did not make it a huge issue in the last three weeks of the campaign to actually get people fired up.

Sad.

Oui, my FRiend.

We must never forget that it was Mister* Boehner who traded away 500 billion in precious defense dollars for ... essentially some magic beans (to arrive at a later date, number may vary, may be substituted for beans with little or no magic associated, and may or may not involve actual beans.)

Mister Boehner has absolutely no gift for bargaining, and no sense of the consequences of serious errors. Any casino would just LOVE to see Mister Boehner walk through their door.

*I say "mister" as opposed to "Speaker of the House", because SOH is so far above his abilities.

I just noticed it and am hearing DiFi has plans to introduce a new AWB

Seems she introduces one every legislative season. It won't go anywhere. Outside of California and New York there's little appetite for gun control from Democrat lawmakers, many of whom remember quite well the painful lessons of 1994.

Actually, isn’t every “weapon” an “assault weapon,” including your fists? I think what they mean is anything that could be used to implement the sole purpose of the Second Amendment; anything that will allow citizens to stop the totalitarian state/genocide they have in mind.

"The difference is that this time by they have the UN Small Arms Treaty - they only need 34 votes in the Senate and the President."

They need 2/3 of the Senate (more like 67?) in favor to ratify a treaty, and they won't get it during this Senate term. Enough Senators have already written opposition to it.

But yes, the Treaty could cause problems down the road anyway. It could, for example, stop, slow or make AK-47/AK-74 variant semi-auto version imports much more expensive, even from outside of the USA. Many other problems could be caused by activities related to the Treaty outside of our country. Quite a few foreign tyrants out there. Mexico, for one, is calling for enforcing such treaties against nations that vote against the treaties.

I was only teasing. We need to call and write representatives to oppose any AWB bill that’s sponsored and also contact Senate members on the Treaty to remind them of their recent statements against it (just over half of ‘em, IIRC).

Asault weapon bans are vague. Before they can be banned, shouldn’t an asault weapon be defined. It used to be an assault weapon was defined as a machine gun....and those were baned. But, in the Clinton era an assault weapon was defined as any rifle with a handle on it...which are not banned as of today as long as they aren’t automatic (machine guns). I have no idea what as assault rifle ban is according to Obama. It’s an important detail.

Feinstein and her minions came up with the original legislative language, and due to their misunderstanding of firearms, it was rather easy for manufacturers to get around them. You had better believe that the evil witch and her minions learned from their "mistakes." A new ban will be sure to remove all the loopholes, and without having to worry about Obama's popularity and the fact that the dems set new standards in corrupting the elections where non-dem votes no longer matter, you can bet the wording will be really draconian!

white feather of cowardice.

Don't you mean "white flag?" "White Feather" was an incredibly brave, heroic Marine sniper named Carlos Hathcock. "White Feather" was how he was known to the NVA and Viet Cong who had a HUGE bounty on his head.

I don’t think so .
The Republicans are going to have to get their sea legs after this socialist onslaught , and will in turn, become the loyal opposition on many of these issues.
Remember, they are just as shell shocked as we are ,they will have to entrench and we will make sure they do.
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY FOR THEM .

This article that you posted is from the last debate and the AWB is D.O.A.

Now, the U.N. treaty will take the Senate to ratify it and there just aren’t enough Lib-Dims to ram it through .

Executive Orders are the big concern ,as we will get flooded with new bureaucratic regulations through the agencies and possible international commerce issues regarding imports and imported ammo .

I was at a gun show today; City police car with license plate scanners mounted at 45 degree angles on the rear of the car, so it could scan plates as it drove through the lot.

Don’t know if this is something new or not, but FYI - if you go to shows, park with your license facing INTO the spot.

Also: Sales of AR15, AKs, and other mil-style rifles were going briskly. Lots of ammo buys too, all cash and carry.

Lots of young guys with high-and-tights, tats, and looking like they’re fresh from the Sandbox and the Rockpile, talking the talk and walking the walk.

Even old bolt action veteran Mosins, Kar98s, etc., were selling well.

People are arming up. They are not happy; they are worried. I won’t even tell you the comments that were overheard, almost universal in opinion, I’m sure you can guess.

And for the record - those firearms aren’t going to be falling out of canoes any time soon.

20 of those 55 dem senators are up for re-election in 2014.

Those in competitive races might hesitate to vote for any ban (we hope they hesitate).

“..2/3 of the Senate...”

Re-read the Constitution: 2/3 of the Senators PRESENT to ratify.

They’ll try to do it during a recess over the holidays, or thereabouts, when the GOP and Dem holdouts (if any ) go home.

It’s called treason, basically, but hey...they don’t care.. “They Won”...

Exactly
A ban is D.O.A. in the House

The U.N. treaty is D.O.A. in the Senate for the reason you stated

Executive orders and their limitations (or lack thereof) are the concern however ...

OK. Send the Kenyan Kommunist Klown an Assault Weapons Ban. Ban all select-fire carbines capable of full auto or burst fire. Extend that to ALL civilians and civilian forces, such as the police and federal law enforcement.

I'd extend the ban to the military too. Reissue the Springfield or the Krag.

“Assault Weapon”.....right....all because of a pistol-grip handle.....

At the gun show today (stocking up) noticed a table with two almost identical “AK-47’s”....everything was identical except one had the typical “AK” look and pistol grip....

The one next to it was identical in every aspect - same receiver, same barrel, same magazine......BUT, it was a “hunting rifle” - all simply because it had a standard rifle
stock.....

Idiots.

The liberal/Marxist game rule is to win, you first re-define things to your own liking.....

Pro-abortion becomes Pro-Choice
Homosexual becomes Gay

etc.

They are winning.
