TheBlaze/AP) — Paula Broadwell first met fellow West Point graduate David Petraeus in the spring of 2006, when she was a graduate student at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
He was a lieutenant general working on a counterinsurgency manual that would be tested during his command in Iraq. The university had invited him to give a speech.
Broadwell was in the Army Reserve after being recalled three times to active duty since the Sept. 11 attacks to work on counterterrorism issues and intended to return to active duty or get into the policy world, according to the preface of the Petraeus biography she would later write with a Washington Post editor.

Another thing to add. In football the object is to win the game. It seems these days winning is not a word in our vocabulary. Think about it, Petraeus is considered some kind of military genius, but where is his wins. He has been involved in what in military history would be called tribal uprisings. Hundreds of British and French generals through the centuries have crushed these in less time and with less resources than Petraeus has. If our men were led by the generals of yore, Iraq and Afghanistan would have been over by 2004.

She just turned 40 (I read that a party scheduled for today got canceled), her husband is 43, and Petraeus also had a birthday this week, turning 60. The boys are indeed 4 and 6.
I just wonder about the chalk in the driveway in the photo at #11. Perhaps drawn by the husband while the kids looked on, in an effort to calm them down after witnessing a big fight between their parents?
If a woman threatened me because I was “close” to the CIA director, I doubt I’d turn to the FBI for help. Some things in this story don’t make sense.

When I first saw pictures of Paula Broadwell, I said,”General Petraeus is dating Jillian Michaels?” There is hope for me yet!!
I wouldn’t put much past this regime. But this is getting a little far fetched given the fact that the Left will be able to effect a coup through regulatory changes, replacements on the Supreme Court, a weak and spineless Congress and a confederate press corps. They have no need for such heavy handed tactics as pulling a general out of his car at gunpoint. But like you say, gunplay aside, are the factions probable? Sure.
Uhhhh, Petraeus ain't exactly Jillian's Type if you catch my drift.

There was that robbery a day or two ago near the White House which the article claims was Petraeus and that the robbery was just a coverup. The robbery (with shots fired) was reported on FR.
