It could be proposed that we get rid of the income tax and
replace it with a sales tax, except that they’ll never hear
the replace part and we’d wind up with a sales tax and a
income tax.

The absolute last thing the federal givernment needs is MORE MONEY..
Kristol is a moron..

Too much money is exactly the federal givernments PROBLEM..
And Americas number one problem.... not two or three but number one..

The debt then becomes the issue for the middle class.

Deficit and inflation.

I think that a good compromise would be to really raise taxes on the rich, but only for the next four years. Really soak them. After all, most of them were for Obama anyway, so we can just give them what they asked for.

Then make it clear that the confiscatory rates will continue under the Democrats after 2016, but that they might hope for relief under the Republicans.

That’s the only fair way to do it!
