Gun manufacturer stocks are a hot commodity on Wall Street in the wake of Tuesday's election.
Gun shop owners are reaping the benefits, too.
Some are selling ten times what they normally do as customers load up.
"Our ammo and our guns have literally been flying off the shelf," says Rich Chatmas, co-owner of The Gun Cleaners in Waco, Texas.
It's been the trend at the gun shop, especially over the last two days.
Customer Brian Richardson has been anticipating President Obama's re-election for months.
"I was a little concerned, because I know that the current president is real big on banning guns, especially assault rifles," he said.
So he stocked up on a rifle, two pistols and ammunition.
"It's usually full, but not only are we selling, it, but we're actually having trouble getting it in," Chatmas said. "We've done several thousands of dollars worth of gun sales in the last couple days, and I know our brothers and sisters in the bigger gun stores, they're doing hundreds of thousands of gun sales," said Rich.
That's ten times what he usually sells.

Why are soo many people jumping into the “I need a gun” game so late?? Didn’t the 8 years of the Arkansas rapist sound an alarm???
I believe you. I only go to local shows when I need beef jerky or Soldier of Fortune T-shirts.
“Trying to buy my first gun and I know little. Do you recommend a gun show to do that, or better to go to a storefront dealer?”
You can get deals at gun show’s if you know what you are doing. Some complain the gun show prices are high, but i have found that most there are willing to hagle. My best advice for a first time buyer is to get advice from a friend you trust that is well versed in firearms.
Some of the red states are firearm friendly.
The results may surprise you. I have a neighbor who was dead certain that what she wanted was a little Kahr like the one I showed her and ended up with a Browning Hi-Power, which is a much larger and heavier gun. Not as much muzzle flip, and reloading drills are easier because there's more to grab. That's what she found she liked, that's what she bought. Your mileage may vary.
Training first, and then purchase, is my advice. And don't be surprised if four different shooters end up with four different preferences. Our diversity is our strength. ;-)
Some of the red states are firearm friendly.
Edit: "red" as in commie, as in New England. These would be blue states, if you follow the convention deployed by the communist news apparatus.
That would be the Wanenmacher Tulsa Gun Show and I was also there. A representative from Cheaper Than Dirt said that they sold one million rounds of ammo last Wednesday.
Your FR page says that you’re in Illinois.
I don’t know what part if the state you’re in, but the laws are VERY restrictive there.
Read up on it before you do anything firearms related.
Randall makes an excellent point. One of the more unpleasant aspects of gun ownership is learning how to navigate unfriendly waters.
The correct answer is: A pistol for your hip, a pistol for your boot, a short-barrel shotgun and a long-range rifle - all in common calibers that you know how to use and maintain, complete with hundreds if not thousands of rounds of ammunition for everything you shoot.
Then you need a knife or two to carry.
Repeat on the hip pistol for every room of your house and for everything in a close-by, accessible location.
With the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg looming this summer, maybe it's an opportunity for a Federal vs. States rights ummmm..... discussion?
The American people do not intend to be disarmed!
It is well know that women can shoot just as well if not better sometimes than men. You may surprise yourself. Might i suggest you try a Springfield Armory XDM- ladies i know do well with that.
I have used many different hand guns over the years. I just purchased a Sig Sauer Pro 250 9mm semi automatic pistol.
My hands are crippled due to arthritis and I have found that this particular semi is just so easy to action the slide on even with crippled hands. I just was out to the range last week and put 40 rounds in the center of the bullseye at 25’ about the size of a silver dollar.
I purchased this piece retail at Sports Authority for $399.00.
I also purchased some years ago a Ruger SP 101 revolver. This pistol will fire 357 or 38’s The choice is yours. I did have some smithing on the piece and had a lighter trigger spring put in to is so I could double action the piece with crippled hands. For a revolver this is just an all round wonderful first piece, and I have taught many students on it over the years. It is easy to load, fire and clean. I purchased the stainless steel variety. I hope this helps. Good Luck, and God Bless.
Yeah, but Ill bet a lot of them sold ALL their guns privately in the past two years and now they have go out and get some more.
You can't really go wrong with a .357 revolver, IMHO.
For a woman the super light S&W is a good choice for a starter gun. .38 caliber , easy to shoot, minimal recoil.
I just sold a pair of single-action revolvers I no longer use, going to get an AR or AK. Gonna go shoot them next week and decide
We are planning more purchases. I am frightened of our government for the first time in my life—seriously.
Oh man I wanted to go to that! Unfortunately I had to spend my gun money on hearing aids. It is a bummer to grow old.
