Karl Rove and his super PAC vow to press on
Washington Post ^

Posted on 11/11/2012 5:58:16 PM PST by jackmercer

"Rove is pondering new missions for Crossroads to address weaknesses laid bare by the GOP’s back-to-back failures to win the White House and the fact that the party fell short when expected to win back the Senate."

"Where until now it battled only in general elections and against Democrats, Crossroads is considering whether to start picking sides in Republican primaries. The idea would be to boost the candidate it deems most electable and avoid nominating the kind of flawed and extreme ones who cost the party what should otherwise have been easy Senate wins in Florida, Missouri and Indiana."

"That, however, could put Crossroads at odds with the tea party and other groups that devote their energies to promoting the most ideologically pure contenders."

"Crossroads also is likely to invest more deeply in organizations such as the Republican State Leadership Committee, which has been trying to build a more appealing GOP farm team by, among other things, recruiting Hispanic candidates to run for state-level office.".....

Here in Michigan we kept the tea party backed seats we took in 2010 and flipped another moderate seat to tea party as well.

Rove has to see more Gadsden Flags flying across the country or on the bumpers. Lets see who they come up with the next time, probably another Dud.

Everyone’s blaming the Indiana loss on the “War on Women” meme, but Lugar and his associates were undermining Mourdock’s campaign as soon as the primary was over.

RINO’s would rather lose to Democrats than win with Conservative.

The Tea party was born on February 27th 2009 fueled by a rant from Rick Santelli on the floor of the Mercantile Exchange. I kinda think that Obama was elected about four months before that /sarc.

So bring it on dough-boy, you have been repudiated twice without appealing for help from us, and in a larger sense, impugning us during your masterful losses.

“To prevent duplication, please don’t alter the published headline. Thanks.”

My apologies. While I post a lot of responses, I rarely start threads based on articles, so a “re-learning” curve for me.

Karl, a crystal decanter of your preferred beverage sitting on the bar of your country club is calling you. Go enjoy it. You’ve earned a nice comfortable quiet retirement.

This tells you what politics means to Robe and his type. It’s not about principle, and it’s certainly not about public service. It’s about nothing more than personal ambition and power. The goal is to get there, not to get there for a reason.

The next moves further left began Wednesday, November 7th.

They've all received their (dnc) talking points -- amnesty, Tea Party Rage, new taxes, 0 DOES have a mandate, etc., etc.

Well I think it’s a shame that a good man on the right can be crucified for one gaffe when it’s business as usual for the left to elect, re-elect, and honor as “party elders” men like Ted Kennedy, Clinton, Alcee Hastings, Hank Johnson, and whole gallery of rogues and criminals.

Same here in SC—not only did we retain our TEA Party congressmen we added one more to our brand new congressional district...

...next we remove and replace that cotton pickin’ Lindsey Graham with one in 2014

And now Hannity wants amnesty for illegals. Hannity is a traitor along with Rove.

Exactly. I've been saying the same all along. The "moderates" refused to let them heal and happily kept reminding people of that one mistake right up to the day of the election.

The race was pretty quiet but the tea partier who filled Thad McCotter's seat in Michigan faced a steady attack from one increasingly strident FReeper right up to the day of the election.

What I REALLY resent is Karl Rove and the Republican leadership determining for me what a “good candidate” is. They are trying to appeal to a “broader base”. What they mean is they are becoming more liberal.

Why vote for a Republican if they are more liberal? Just vote for the Democrat.

Truth of the matter is, the problem in this country is moral. People want others to take care of them on the other person’s dime.

That is what health care is about. That is what welfare is about. That is what the “redistribution” is all about.
