The whole Petraeus affair is a Greek tragedy on many levels.
America has lost a good field general. His family is suffering the humiliation of the affair.
His autobiographer has turned out to be something less than an officer and a lady.
The FBI seems to have screwed up their reporting of the incident up the chain of command re Congress.
The White House covered up the affair until it was safe to let Petraeus go AFTER the ELECTION, not before.
I smell some political rats in this but I’ll reserve judgment until all the facts are brought out (if that is possible under the Obama regime).
And in the end, the American military has taken another hit during the Obama administration, with senior field commanders being taken out of the service one way or another (Gen. Ham, for one).
The list of naval officers who have been relieved of command, from Sub and Air Craft Carriers on downward, is astonishing, and I believe it is because of the presence of women onboard ships. The temptation is powerful to mess around when you are on a 3-6 month deployment.
Thus Obama’s “political correctness” approach to the military is actually a method of breaking down disciple and thus further crippling our forces by forcing out otherwise capable commanders.
Too many incidents of improper conduct to be a random result of excess hormones. The presence of women onboard ships is a direct threat to the command orderliness and strict conduct necessary for an officer to perform their duty without major distractions.
This is what Obama wants, a neutered, reduced, and subservient Navy, followed by the PC Air Force, Army, and then the Marines/Special Ops. The Secy of the Navy Mabus is a spineless wimp and should resign right now.
Look at what JCS Gen. Dempsey has been focusing on recently, and it ain’t Benghazi, Ft. Hood Massacre, or winning in Afghanistan.
Draw your own conclusions (but also add in future revelations before you do).
Wow... You usually don’t see the media beat down a guy this hard over infidelity unless they’ve jumped the ship on Obama.
