David Petreaus took his mistress with him on a government funded trip to Paris after he was named director of the Central Intelligence Agency, according to news reports. Petraeus made the trip with 40-year-old Paula Broadwell, who has written a fawning biography of him, in July 2011, an unnamed source told Buzzfeed. Petraus was heading to his new job as chief of the CIA at the time. Sixteen months later, the four-star general has resigned from his post after his affair with Broadwell was uncovered by the FBI.

In the old days people never did such a thing. Men in power kept mistresses all of the time and shared secrets. It was not an uncommon thing to do for the power elite.

Well it is partial sarcasm. September 11, 2012, before any Muslim ever spontaneously gathered, our government was apologizing for some faked video. Before that day was over 4 Americans were murdered. And the top leadership of this nation attempted to blame a fake video as the reason.
Today we are two months out from the deaths of 4 Americans, and the top leadership is still refusing to explain why they did nothing to protect Americans they sent to work for US.
So Congress is having hearings supposedly to get answers and lo and behold on Friday before the Director of the CIA resigns because he is whoring around with another man's wife. Two days out from this resignation we already know the frisky general took his 'secret' on tax payers dime to tour Paris.
Strange how easy information flows when the holders of said information decide it is time to dump.

I use the term “Colin Powell Republicans” to describe those “Republicans” who are easily swayed by Obama doing something that appears Hawkish and accomodating to centrist/moderates, like Colin Powell, and I think Petraeus was brought in to get their votes.
I have no control over what the ratz arses decide is news fit to print. But the ratz arses sure have demonstrated they can with official "unofficial" sources report all about the frisky general's movements.

The General was an idiot to accept the position and I said so at the time.
