LONDON, Nov 12 (Reuters) - The United States will overtake Saudi Arabia and Russia as the world's top oil producer by 2017, the West's energy agency said on Monday, predicting Washington will come very close to achieving a previously unthinkable energy self-sufficiency.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) said it saw a continued fall in U.S. oil imports with North America becoming a net oil exporter by around 2030 and the United States becoming almost self-sufficient in energy by 2035.

Another factoid is that the US is already a net exporter of energy.
Not if the Dear Leader can help it.
The title should read: “Despite the Kenyan’s best efforts...”
But does that mean we ship our crude out without refining it here as we have not built any new refineries in many years?

The saudi’s can drill for it, we can’t. OPEC is safe as long as obama & co. are in power.

Upgrades and additions to existing refineries amount to one new refinery per year. They are built on very large tracts of land and can be expanded in a big way.
And they have a lot of land left to build on.
