Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Dianne Feinstein said on Monday that President Barack Obama should have been told much earlier about the FBI’s investigation into former CIA Director David Petraeus.
“Absolutely,” Feinstein said when asked if the president should have been informed earlier. The president was told on Thursday of last week, officials have said.
The FBI investigation ended up uncovering Petraeus’ affair with his biographer, leading to his resignation from the CIA. Feinstein has already declared her committee would investigate why the FBI didn’t disclose the investigation to Congress earlier.
She also said the committee is prepared to subpoena a report written Petraeus shortly before his resignation.

My guess is that he didn't need to be told. 0bama couldn't just get rid of him without some justification, so he called the FBI in and told them that Petraeus wasn't "playing ball", and they needed to find something on him. Unfortunately he conveniently obliged with an affair. Quite possibly Broadwell set him up.

Gen Petraeus was a very smart child, unfortunately so smart that he was able to skip kindergarten.

Obama has a AG that is not smart enough to report that the head of Intellegence is compromised.. Oh, until 3 days after the election.
He has a Sec of Defense that doesn’t know how to deploy CINC
before 14 hours when we are being attacked.
He has a Sec of State that blames a video for a pre planned attack for two weeks when the rest of the world knows it is not so.
But Obama did not know about any of this.
So...MS. Feinstein, when you get through a long investigation I’m sure you’ll come to the conclusion that all three of these must go.. Gee don’t we all feel so much safer now? Ms. Feinstein is investigating this and she’s going to get to the bottom of it...

Obama had this info released now about Petraus so that he wouldn’t have to testify about what he knows about Libya..this entire scandal makes Watergate look like a picnic
I don’t buy this line that Prince Zero didn’t know.
If Holder knew in “late summer,” Zero knew. To pretend otherwise strains credulity.
