I’m with Barone on the black turnout numbers: they’re Obama-cenric and aren’t likely a permanent feature of the electoral landscape.
But they have proven to be decisive in the past two presidential elections, and the GOP has to assume the day will come when the black vote gets behind a candidate with this type of enthusiasm again.
Since it won’t ever be for them, the GOP needs to pick off Hispanic and Jewish votes where they can be found. There are siginificant pockets of conservatism within each, and there lies the work to be done.
the black turnout #’s were spiked by overwhelming voter fraud, with was probably mostly black. Good grief. we get around 230,000 votes from areas that have 170,000 registered voters, “60,000 more votes than registered voters”, and Barone doesn’t even mention it! Great Caesars Ghost!
