Alert: Immigration sellout underway?
Daily Caller ^ | Mickey Kaus

Alert! The entire GOP elite seems to be trying to sell out en masse on immigration. Not only Boehner, but Cantor. And Hannity (who works for pro-amnesty world citizen Rupert Murdoch). Even Krauthammer. …

Maybe these people are convinced the larger GOP project can be saved simply by caving on just this one issue. That seems cracked. The bulk of the Hispanic electorate appears to instinctively vote Democratic, and not just because of immigration. (“[T]his is just a fairly liberal voting block.”) Maybe they can be wooed over to the Republican side over the course of decades. But by then there will be another wave of new, instinctively Democratic illegal immigrants (lured by the Boehner Amnesty) for Dems to appeal to. And the idea that the GOPs don’t have to change any of their other ideas if only they appease this one ethnic group (making up 10% of the electorate) is highly questionable, as David Frum has argued. … There were plenty of other reasons why Romney lost. (If he’d gotten McCain’s share of the Latino vote … he still would have lost.)

The larger point is that “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”–which is supposed to be a simultaneous combination of an amnesty plus enforcement measures–is a terrible idea. It’s a terrible idea if it helps the Republican Party win national elections or if it hurts them..** As with the 1986 “comprehensive” reform, we will get the amnesty but not the enforcement–after the ACLU and Chamber of Commerce are through undermining it in the courts, and the Obama Justice Department is through undermining it in practice. The result will be (as in 1986) a new wave of illegal immigrants, largely unskilled, who will bid down the wages of the Americans and legal immigrants at the bottom of the labor market.

Of course the GOP will cave. They look forward to 20 million new illegal alien voters pouring over the borders.

How could you think otherwise! Of course the GOP will fold just as they will do on Taxes and everything else. Still wonder why we vote for these scoundrels? I sure do!

I wonder if the GOP pundits & moderate politicians will finally shut the hell up after they realize that all they've accomplished with their 'hispanic outreach' program is another 10, 20, 30 million clients of the state & loyal democrat voters and put all but the local offices buried deep in red states totally out of their reach evermore.

Probably not.

The way I see it, the Democrats want the votes, while the GOP wants to keep their business interests happy with cheap labor (see: the founder of Central Market, who is a Republican and a big amnesty advocate).

Big Business loves Democrats, maybe the GOP should check where these corporations donate their “charity”?

“They look forward to 20 million new illegal alien voters pouring over the borders.”

And will be absolutely shocked when 95% of them vote for Democrats. The GOP leadership is the walking definition of stupid.

The GOP and Rove have concluded that to gain power, the future lies
with illegals, not conservatives.. The keyword in my post is power,
Not principal.

I tire of just how stupid some people are, the republican leadership NEVER cave, EVER, they are ALL members of the New World Order which will bring in the one world government. They will do whatever their masters demand, and we are not their masters.

So, be quite, do what you are told, you are only slaves to the collective.

Soon they will require our firearms, many will comply. Some will need to be re-educated at FEMA camps, those who refuse to change will disappear.

It is happening here!

Why have two parties at all?

Fact, we would not have a Hispanic voter problem if our voting system was not corrupt. It’s the illegal Hispanic’s that are voting Dem that’s the problem. Clean out the corruption ...PROBLEM SOLVED.

And if it’s not corrected before 2014, we’ll lose the House of Representatives too. Then what??

A conservative third party is the only answer. Why? Because if the Republican party splits between conservatives and corporatists, the Democratic Party will soon splinter shortly thereafter, and there are many more interest groups housed under the Democrat tent. Then, like Europe, we’ll have multiple parties with conservatives being the largest.

Kind of a funny comment - have you seen where Apple has most of their business overseas (ie. very low paid workers) - for cheap labor and tax purposes? I’m sure that almost all businesses you could name do the same. Wonder why?

Could it really be that only the Republican businesses are looking for cost reductions? Could it be that Democrats also do the same? Could this be a non-issue when comparing parties?

Sometimes I just think that it does not matter any more. Too many idiots believe both the MSM or the politicians of their flavor. We have no chance - it’s all about who can promise the most to the most. Might as well just give up and apply for government benefits.

Ronald Reagan actually gave Latinos amnesty, but this didn’t exactly sew up their vote. It won’t now either.

Well, perhaps I should say the chief benefit the Republicans see is cheap labor, because they aren’t going to get their votes. They may think they will.

I wouldn’t mind them selling out if they put in ironclad laws:
Create a Path to Citizenship for all Illegal Immigrants past and future with these requirements:
1. Non-Citizens will not be Eligible for any government assistance
2. Illegals have a 10 year waiting period to become a citizen, but they will be issued a Yellow Card Work Permit during this 10 Year Waiting Period.
3. After becoming a citizen, they will have to wait another 5 years and pay a fine prior to being able to collect government benefits.
4. Government Assistance Restrictions apply to anyone who is claimed as a dependent of an illegal immigrant.
5. You can not claim dependents that live outside the United States if you are an Illegal Immigrant.

What else would you want on the wish list? With this, they should get literally anything they want. All they have to do is ask, no need to make it acceptable to the Dems, in fact ..... all the better.
