I’m only referring to those who voted for zero. Not those who hold true to their faith and teachings.
Take a chill pill. I was only referring to those Catholics who voted for zero. However, in past elections, the majority of Catholics voted for Democrats - straight ticket. Just what defines a Christian in your viewpoint?
A big rejoining of the Catholic Church, but that’s a different matter.
BTT!!!!
Then we are alike in this regard.
For Catholics, one is part of the Church through their baptism. The Church includes sinners as well. In a large sense, the Church is for sinners. Sinners in need of Christ.
When a bishop refuses a Catholic Holy Communion it is not intended as "get out and never come back," but as a call to examination, discussion, repentance and rejoining the Communion of Saints fully.
For me, when I make the distinction: X is not Catholic, I mean they hold values consciously contrary to the teaching of the Church. Hence, the Catholic in name only appellation.
Obviously, there are non-Catholics who also act and promote values contrary to Christian faith. I see lots of calls for Catholics to excommunicate them. I always wonder when those who are not Catholic say this, what they propose for those in their own church.
Actually I am Catholic. I am referring to Latino “Catholics” that I have dealt with in 3 states. They call themselves Catholic for identity purposes only and do not hold true to Catholic teaching and doctrine, otherwise 75% would not have voted for obama. They use the Church for what they can get for free.
” Step 1 should be the public excommunication of HHS head Kathy Sebelius, with specific disciplinary measures in place against any clergy member who allows her access to the Catholic sacraments.”
Absolutely, as well as Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, all prominent dem Catholics, and any Kennedy who might be in office.
Or, all Kennedys, just for good form and consistency.
“P.S. Don’t hold your breath. None of this is going to happen.”
Yep...history concurs with you.
