ABOARD A U.S. MILITARY AIRCRAFT The FBI probe into the sex scandal that led to the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced early Tuesday.
According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of potentially inappropriate emails between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close friendship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall. Allen, a Marine, succeeded Petraeus as the top allied commander in Afghanistan in July 2011.
The FBI first notified the Pentagon of its investigation into Allens communications with Kelley on Sunday evening, according to the senior defense official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of the ongoing case.
In response, Pentagon chief Leon E. Panetta referred the investigation to the Defense Departments Inspector General for further review, according to a statement released by Panetta early Tuesday as he was traveling to Australia.
The latest development in the unfolding scandal has shaken President Obamas national-security staff and upended his carefully chosen plans for his military and intelligence team in his second term.
It also further calls into question the personal behavior of two of the U.S. militarys highest-ranking and most respected figures, who apparently ignored concerns about the highly sensitive nature of their jobs as they embraced personal relationships with younger women who were not their wives.
In his statement, Panetta said Allen would remain as commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan for now, while the matter is under investigation and before the facts are determined.

So, in a nutshell, the Three Generals and One Admiral have been fired to prevent their testimony against Obama before Congress over Benghazi. Okay then. Somebody needs to man up here.
Turkey’s islamist leader Erdogan took out all his opposition secular generals too, didn’t he?
I agree. Who will stand up and kick the punkass cake boy to the curb? I am working on a four year mad that none of the ABC agencies could do anything? Seriously?
Clinton blazed that trail. If the CinC can get away with it “because he can”, then high-ranking generals will feel that they’re entitled too.
Can't imagine what for.
When I say involved I don’t mean in an affair.
I just went back and re read the article.
The same Arab woman, Kelly is the same woman that Broadwell sent
emails to. And is the woman that sent this other commander emails.
So General Allen was in Tampa for three years until he took over ISAF from General Petraeus. It appears from what I have read so far that Paula Broadwell had Jill Kelley pegged.
Another article about the Lebanese woman and Gen. Allen.
When r they going to raid Hillary’s house.
Yeah. What a payoff.
You won’t need to work on a four year mad. A four year mad will come to us, gratis.
Broadwell’s emails weren’t specific, didn’t refer to P, if I’m remembering correctly. Perhaps she was warning her off Allen?
Don’t expect the GOP lead by Bonehead to man up anytime soon.
The Chicago Thugs are running circles around them.
With all the lies, deceptions, distractions and freak sideshows going on,
The inept GOP house will never get the truth about the 4 dead Americans.
Perhaps she was warning her off all the command at MacDill.
Here are a few of the emails:
The much publicized emails that sparked the whole Petraeus scandal have been obtained by The LBT.
>>>”replacing them with his own Men, to keep Military from rising up. Both Women were probably working for that boy in
we are in deep
So lets see. Blame the woman with no facts other than the good general couldn’t keep it zipped. Geez and you wonder why we lost the female vote by such a large margin?
Thinking Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Baker.........sad. Sad that these men can't think about the consequences and remember how others have fallen.
The most respected MAN that I know of is Billy Graham...he knew how to avoid those traps. I hear George Bush was equally cautious. Good for them.
These TRAMPS are always lurking for their next snare.
