Secretary of Defense Kerry? (A defense secretary who never met a weapons system he didn't hate)
American Thinker ^ | 11/13/2012 | Rick Moran

Actually, as a Senator who voted against every major weapons system over the last 25 years, he'd be perfect for overseeing our military, don't you think? Washington Post:

*****

President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus.

Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with the transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

John O. Brennan, Obama's chief counterterrorism adviser, is a leading contender for the CIA job if he wants it, officials said. If Brennan goes ahead with his plan to leave government, Michael J. Morell, the agency's acting director, is the prohibitive favorite to take over permanently. Officials cautioned that the White House discussions are still in the early stages and that no decisions have been made.

[snip] [snip]

How perfect is this? A defense secretary who never met a weapons system he didn't hate, and a Secretary of State who thinks the UN should run American foreign policy.

I gather the Senate will just “assume” them confirmed, just like they assumed a budget was passed? Because no way Kerry and Susan Rice can testify in front of the Senate.

Oh wait! We don’t have any senators with balls, do we. So they won’t be asked anything tough, like Libya or spending or...

I think we are going to get a whole slew of new Marxists in the 2nd term. Obama will probably create a Cabinet Position for Muslim outreach headed by the one handed hate preacher we extraditied from the UK!

Kerry-The one who threw away his ‘medals’

What a guy!

Yea... I want HIM as Sec. of Defense!

Pile it on, “O”... the more ridiculous and outrageous you make your administration... the more like a Gilbert & Sullivan (Pirates of Penzance) light opera farce you make it! If a single country on the face of the earth ever again takes us seriously, it will be a miracle!

“Every time the GOP runs a moderate, it seems to happen.”

The 47% have swelled. I’ve talked to Obama voters near me. All I can tell you is, good luck finding, and electing a “pure conservative”. Got a better chance of the Browns winning the Super Bowl.

Sorry if you find my observations “obnoxious”.

RE: He’s up for Hillary’s job

Actually word has it that Susan Rice is being rewarded by Obozo for her loyalty by giving her Hillary’s position.

Naming John Kerry Sec. of Defense would be like naming Gary Busey supervisor at a psychiatric hospital.

It looks like someone wants to start the blame game on another thread. Yeah. It’s OUR fault Obama won. We conservatives are responsible. It’s our fault that we didn’t get all fired up for the weak, moderate nominee, Mitt Romney.

Granted. President Obama is going to be far worse. In what sort of Bizzaro World does the traitorous, anti-military Senator Kerry get put in charge of the military? Answer: Obama’s World.

Nevertheless, we need to stop bashing our fellow conservatives who didn’t vote for Romney. It’s the same situation as with McCain. The Republicans nominated a terrible candidate. To this day, I can’t really tell you what Romney stood for except complete surrender on social issues. You can’t blame voters when the party nominates a weak moderate like Romney.

Voters need someone to vote FOR not just someone to vote against. Some Republican diehards will vote no matter who the nominee is (so long as he has an R by his name), but fear of Obama will only take us so far. We have to offer something distinctly different than, “I’m not as bad as that other guy!”

That’s as far as we go with agreement.

Our opinions severely diverge after that.

Not agreeing or disagreeing. But on topic of pure conservative our side split the vote between two conservatives which allowed Romney to get in. So side has some work to do.

We've always known that Romney is a RINO, but to say that Obama is preferable to Romney is suicidal insanity. Those who stayed home on election day because they couldn't hold their nose and vote for Romney are RESPONSIBLE for reelecting Obama, and are RESPONSIBLE for all the horrors of the next four years. They stayed home and let it happen.

Look at yourself in the mirror every morning for the next four years and say to yourself "I'm glad Obama was reelected because I stuck to my principles and that's more important than saving the country from a monster. America will go down in flames but my conscience is clear"

That's what's really important, right?
