Moran: Republicans' hard-right turn worries old-guard Tom Kean
NJ.com ^ | November 11, 2012 | Tom Moran

And now that he’s 77 years old, and the election is over, he felt free last week to administer an unvarnished scolding to the modern Republican Party.

He describes a party that has lost its way, that is beholden to the wealthy, and that will keep losing elections until it recaptures the populist centrism of Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt, the two most successful Republican presidents in our history.

Tom Kean is a pure, unadulturated RINO. This piece of worthless liberal trash thought Chrissie Whitman was "too conservative" and supported payment of reparations to black Americans. He doesn't believe the Second Amendment applies to private citizens.

The fact that he has the TEMERITY to name Teddy Roosevelt. a great hero,as one of his favorites is a disgrace.

THIS is the kind of trash we have to live with in New Jersey Republican politics. Rich elitist limousine liberal types who control the party machine through their wealth and their blue-blood connections and have nothinig but real contempt for average Republicans.

Good advice. Or we could just have honest elections.

Our party is about 40% closer to the dems than it was when Reagan won two landslides. This myth has to be addressed. The tea party has nearly Identical positions to Reagan.

Bugger off you addled old fool. I'm waiting for the first article warning of the democrat's slide to the left, the suggestion of which is so obvious I almost hate to make it.

Only a RINO would be more concerned with the “hard right” turn of the GOP than the hard left turn of the Rats.

Which proves Kean doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

What “hard-right” turn? The implication is that if we don’t meet the Dems half way on every Dem hard-left turn then we are being “hard-rigt”? Please give me one example of where this supposed “hard-right” tea party agenda differs from Ronald Reagan’s positions in the slightest.

First, we need to destroy the ‘Left vs Right’ paradigm. This is ‘Tyranny vs Freedom’, ‘Central Planning vs Economic Self determination’ etc....
The alarm sounds whenever anyone talks of ‘beholden to the rich’ or ‘tax cuts for the rich’. It shows their complete ignorance of economics. Rather than concentrate on ‘wealth destruction’, they need to concentrate on ‘wealth creation’.
This exercise is futile,IMHO. It shows how differently, we are wired. Mao’s ‘Cultural Revolution’ was not that long ago.

Long ago, before NJ had an income tax, one of the GOP brightlights who was also a CEO of one of the vehicle supply houses in NJ began lobbying for a state income tax. I wrote him a letter pointing out the income tax would be just another pool of money to be spent upon worthless programs. Lastly, the state would be just as financially bad off with it as without it. The jerk actually sent a response which basically said I did not know what I was talking about. Well, the results are in now, the state is a fiscal basket case with people being taxed out the whazoo. Unfortunately his pooly run company was purchased and this lard ass got to leave with a ton of cash and of course moved to another state.

You know, I have long resisted this talk of a third party, but after this last fiasco, maybe it’s time to really consider this.

The Republican Party has consistently told us that they DO NOT want us. The Republican Party has consitently told us that they could win elections if only they would allow abortions, allow homosexuality, allow open borders, you know, pretty much what the Democrats say. I say, fine. Good luck with that.

Let the Karl Roves, Chris Christies, Ann Coulters, Tom Keans have the Republican Party WITHOUT Conservatives!

You forever tell us we’re not wanted. You forever force your candidates on us because YOU know better.

Time to leave the “know-it-all” country club Republicans to their own devices.
