John McAfee Claims He's Innocent of Neighbour's Murder (claims they were trying to kill him)
International Business Times ^ | 11/13 | huysman

In an telephone interview with Wired on Monday, McAfee revealed he was convinced the police were after him and would kill him if he went in for an interview.

He said he was innocent and that he hid under the sand while the police searched his property. He is currently on the run somewhere in Belize, though his exact location is unknown.

McAfee claims he has nothing to do with the murder nor knows anything about it, except that the neighbour had been shot.

McAfee also expressed concern that he was the real target and that Faull's murder was a case of mistaken identity.

I have met John a handful of times, both when he lived in the US and after he moved to Belize. He is an interesting character.

I am also fairly certain that he is a psychopath (in the clinical sense). He takes pride in his lack of feelings for others. When his nephew was killed in Rodeo, MN flying one of John's airplanes, John was almost militant in his unwillingness to mourn him. He wraps this behavior in a cloak of "Zen", and for years he pursued Yoga/meditation/Zen training. John is anything but Zen though.

He professes to be opposed to drugs or alcohol in any form. He will go so far as to prohibit the people around him to drink; therefore it surprises me that he is being accused of drug use. When he moved to Belize, he setup a lab in his compound to study the "natural chemical properties of plants". After his researcher quit, John continued to operate the lab, and this raised many questions with the authorities as to what was going on. It did seem odd.

Regarding the dogs, they were a menace at the compound; and I am a dog lover. When you entered John's compound, you were issued a "buggy whip" to fend off the dogs. They were aggressive, a pack of junkyard dogs. I was bitten on one visit, and no telling how many others were. I would not want those animals anywhere near my kids.

Don’t care what it says.

I have read where he sold it to Intel for 7 billion.

That’s the number all over the internet.

100 million is too cheap.

The fact that the company McAfee was bought by Intel for 7 bn does not mean that the person Mr. McAfee got 7 bn. But go ahead "not caring what it says." Ignorance is bliss.

I could care less how much he is worth.

I am busy trying to find out the depth of Kerry’s involvement with the Lebanese Mata Haris.

John was always a crook, of the worst kind. Started out as a scammer. Remained a scammer.

Probably wrote some of the earliest viruses so he could sell his product. When I set up anyone's pc it was the first thing I would uninstall. Then Norton.

I don’t know if he was actually able to do that. Although I know there was a tiff between him and a *real* tech heavy who blamed him for a networked Jerusalem.

But a lot of the early viruses were actually written by early antivirusers. And a lot of the later ones, too, are out of the companies. They’ll tell you it’s a myth. Far from it.
