According to this timeline, the affair started after Petraeus was confirmed as Director of the CIA according to his "friend" Boylan. But, Broadwell "makes multiple trips to Afghanistan" in 2010 and "is given unprecedented access to Petraeus and his commanders." Anyone believe this timeline? Or maybe this was staged so ObaMao had the cooperation of Petraeus in arming the MuzBroHood.

One of the things that confuses me about this timeline — the affair ended before the investigation started? So Petaeus was nudged out of office because of a past affair already broken up?

And why exactly does the FBI care about one of an incredibly huge number of DC affairs?

I don’t believe anything that anyone is saying abut this. I am now reading that Petraeus sees no reason for him to testify...The man is a coward, a liar, and treasonous. As far as I am concerned there is no spot in hell hit enough for this pos. His willfulness cost US troops their lives——a pox on him

All of the happy little creatures at the Naval and Military Academies are watching and taking notes. If it’s good enough for the CinC (Dollar Bill Clinton) and the field commanders...

Maybe both schools should introduce a course in Leadership entitled “How to resist the call of giant bazzonkers.”

Sounds to me like West Point is in dire need of an advance course on wiener control.

Or that Obama learned of it on November 8th? This is the WH and MSM propaganda timeline. They must think the Amnerican people are stupid and given the election results, they might be on to something.

The FBI was tracking down harassing emails from BraSwell to Kelley, then "They come across a private Gmail account using an alias that belongs to Petraeus".

What on God's green earth is the director of the CIA doing with a frikin' Gmail account? Google? Seriously?

"I am now reading that Petraeus sees no reason for him to testify...The man is a coward, a liar, and treasonous"

I read that "he wants to get his life back in order". Well, 4 Americans would like to get their lives back.

Screw his life! He has a duty to the constitution and the American people who entrusted him with our national security. Do your job Mr. 4 star hero general. Then, "get your life in order".

Legal Insurrection, iirc, analyzed the longer timeline and figures that Obie/Valerie Jarrett knew of Patreus' affair before he was moved to CIA. IOW, the Gen. came with an automatic "Fire Me" option, whenever it might be needed.

Days after the election, and one day before scheduled testimony.

Coinky-dink, of course.

makes multiple trips to Afghanistan

So who is paying for all these trips? Her doctor husband? Hopefully not the tax payer somehow. Although evidently we footed the bill when her lover took her on a trip to Paris.

Also, it's been reported that she has two children aged 4 and 6. Who's raising her kids during these extended periods of time away from home.

When I saw your note it reminded me of something I read a couple of weeks ago, but had a very hard time finding it again...wonder why?

Can honor be taught? Can you test for it? Can you detect when it’s been forsaken? For Fred Malmstrom, Air Force Academy Class of ‘64, the answers to those questions are: yes, yes, and if you want to. Malmstrom is a psychologist, researcher and historian of his alma mater’s falls from grace. He has found the academy — where, until last week, he’s served as an unpaid visiting scholar for honor since 1999 — doesn’t seem interested in his documentation of a decline in cadets’ respect for the honor code and an increase in infractions.

This timeline fills in a lot of wholes that were present in earlier articles. The best article I read on the situation the day it broke was this NewsMax article:

http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/petraeus-resigns-cia-affair/2012/11/09/id/463573

Based on that, I assumed that the affair began in Spring/Summer 2011 AFTER Petraeus was appointed but BEFORE he was confirmed as CIA Director. I assumed the affair was discovered during his vetting process. That would mean that the FBI, FBI Director Mueller, AG Holder, and the WH had to have known he was compromised, but appointed him anyway to have a trump card to play against him in the future should they need it.
But this WSJ timeline proves my theory was wrong. Or does it? The current timeline now says the affair began after Petraeus took over the CIA (Nov 2011). But the FBI investigation didn’t occur until May 2012 as a result of being contacted by Kelley, a self described socialite receiving harassing emails. Without sounding like a conspiracy theorist, I wonder if the FBI had been “unofficially” fishing in Petraeus background during the vetting processes and discovered the affair much earlier than is being reported. The Kelley trigger could be a way to get that “unofficial” investigation turned into an “official” investigation. Or it could be that the WSJ timeline is entirely accurate and all this came about exactly as reported.
Either way, the WH has a problem because AG Holder knew about this affair this Summer and buried it until after the election. That is bad enough because it means the WH knowingly left a compromised CIA Director in place while a major international fiasco (Benghazi) happened. But it would be 10x worse if the WH had knowingly appointed a compromised CIA Director back in 2011 with the intention of potentially using the affair against him in the future. That is just speculation now, unless some knew information comes out.
But based on how this WH has been able to suppress just about everything damaging to itself, I am not hopeful that anything will come of this, or the Benghazi situation. Just like F&F. Americans died, the WH lied, and no one cares. Sad.

What really shocks me to the core is that Petraeus used a shared Gmail account to communicate surreptitiously! That alone should have gotten him fired. He's CIA Director - the top spy in the only global super power.

Regarding conspiracies, maybe the timeline at the WSJ is correct. But, maybe Broadwell was sent to Petraeus to get something started so he would tow the line on giving weapons to the Muslim Brotherhood. That's not exactly unprecedented. If this were true, it wouldn't matter if the affair started before or after Petraeus became CIA Director because the plan was hatched to compromise him regardless. Maybe he was acting within character and Jarret et al knew this...???

"Sept. 6, 2011 – Petraeus is sworn in as CIA director with his wife, Holly, by his side. Broadwell keeps in contact with Petraeus and is later invited to his office for events, including a meeting with actress Angelina Jolie."

Hello! Broadwell (I call her BraSwell) invited to meet with Tomb Raider hottie...

And maybe the timeline was doctored by a career officer - retired Army Col. Steve Boylan...?

Its shocking the number of women who are leaving their husband and small children to go take care of other pursuits. Trouble is, if you are a young child and your mother leaves you so she can go do “important stuff” it doesn’t really matter to you if she is on a crack binge or interviewing someone important. Abandonment is abandonment and it is frightening common with the upper class these days.
