High Court Delays Decision In California Gay Marriage November 13, 2012

The U.S. Supreme Court has pushed back by 10 days the date on which it will consider whether to review the issue of gay marriage in California, according to lawyers in the case.

The court had been set to discuss whether to grant review of Hollingsworth vs. Perry on Nov. 20, but now says it will consider it on Friday Nov. 30, according to lawyers who represent Kris Perry and three other plaintiffs seeking to marry their partners in California.

If the high court decides at that time not to grant review of the case, a federal appeals court decision striking down Proposition 8 will be made permanent, setting the stage for gay marriage to begin in California. Proposition 8 was a 2008 ballot measure that banned gay marriage.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled earlier this year that it was unconstitutional. If, on the other hand, the court decides to hear the case, the issue could be decided by next summer.

Still waiting for answers to “why 2?” and “why not biologically related?”

So far *crickets* — even from my gay nephew.

Marriage is a state issue and the people of California made their decision. What’s the problem?

You don’t get it. Every single aspect of human life is now a Federal matter.

Get used to it.

If they get away with overturning the will of the people, then the SANE folks in Maryland,Maine,Minnesota, and Washington State should sue to overturn the will of the voters in those states for APPROVING gay "marriages"!

The problem is that Libs. never give up until they get what they want. Then and only then is any issue ever settled for them.

'Two-ism' is simple bigotry of the worst sort ~ and so is 'species-ism'. Why not 3, or 4, or 1 of each of several common varieties of goats and sheep?

These GBLT folks can't tell us they don't know a lot of folks who've tried it eh!

We didn’t approve gay “marriage” here in MN. Things stayed exactly as they were.

The stock answer is "that's different," and we're just supposed to accept such a brilliant retort.
