One Graph That Shows Which Party Really Looks Like America
Front Page Magazine ^ | November 13, 2012 | Daniel Greenfield

“Why is the Republican Party so white?” is the great whine issuing forth from the fat mouths of a thousand media outlets.

The Republican Party needs to be a party that “looks more like America” is the big lie of the left. So let’s take a look at the racial composition of Americans and the percent of the racial vote that Democrats and Republicans received to see which party really looks more like America.

There’s America in gray. And the Republican Party in red right next to it. And there’s the Democratic Party off to the side looking nothing like America.

In all cases, the Republican vote is closer to the demographics of America than the Democratic vote.

The racial composition of America is 63 percent white. Romney received 59 percent of the white vote with 39 percent left over for Obama.

While the 223.6 million white Americans, who look like America and whom America looks like, were not fully represented by either party; they were most represented by the Republican Party. The Democratic Party really needs to work on its share of the white vote because the Democratic Party no longer looks like America.

White Americans are the majority in 49 of the 50 state and also continue to act as a swing vote, determining presidential elections by shifting one way or another, in contrast to other some racial groups who narrow-mindedly vote as a bloc.

The Republican share of the vote shows inclusiveness picking up the votes of two out of three minority groups at a greater percentage than their representation in the population.

The racial composition of America is 16 percent Hispanic. The Republican Party exceeded the Hispanic share of the population in its representation by picking up 27 percent of the Hispanic vote. The Democrats got 71 percent of their vote, which is impressive, but another reminder that the Democratic Party does not look like America.

Asians make up 5 percent of America. Republicans picked up 26 percent of their vote. Democrats picked up 73 percent of the Asian vote. Again the Republicans picked up a larger share of the Asian vote than the representation of Asians in the population.

Blacks make up 13 percent of the population. Republicans picked up 6 percent of the Black vote. Only among Blacks did Romney pick up a lower share of the vote than their proportion in the American population. And if Romney had not been running against a black candidate, he would have probably matched Bush’s 11 percent of the black vote, which is fairly comparable to the black racial demographics of America.

The Republican share of the vote from 2012 is closest to the demographic picture of America. Two out of three minority groups are overrepresented. And only black people are underrepresented for reasons that have to do with racial pride, not a lack of Republican inclusiveness.

The Republican Party looks like America. The Democratic Party does not. And it is the Democratic Party that needs to work harder to be more representative of America.

On a related note, following the pattern from post # 19, the Democrat percentages work out this way:

24.57 - White - 48.21%
10.65 - Hispa - 20.90%
_3.65 - Asian - _7.16%
12.09 - Black - 23.72%
-------................-------
43.30 - Total -100.00% (rounding difference)

Don't forget to factor in the agit/prop put out by La Raza and the rest of the Fifth Column---numerous groups infiltrating the US----organized to push the Third World agenda.

The conniving, wily latinos know vote-crazed politicans respond to clobbering by voting blocs (pressure groups) and will cave in to outrageous demands for a few measley votes.

===========================================

Keep in mind, Mexico is pushing north at a furious space---salivating for reconquista and lusting after foreign aid billions.

The Third World is throwing its "pressure groups" over the border--- financing and coaching their fifth column's invasion of US borders.

The wailing and whining propaganda-----"just here for a better life, to do jobs Americanos won't do"---is designed for bleeding heart liberals.....and sap-happy, vote-crazed US politicians.

I have never understood how 13 percent of the population gets so much attention

How about queers and dykes? What percentage are they and I know they must get a heck of a lot more attention than any other group.

Then there’s the 90% of the country that never lifts a finger to vote, choosing instead to fixate on Honey Boo Boo etc.

Think about the national political conventions. If you randomly picked people from all across the country to attend the RNC, it would look a lot like what you saw in Tampa this summer, with the exception of too many blacks and not enough Asians. If you randomly picked people from the say top 10 metropolitan statistical areas, my guess would be it would look a lot like what you saw in Charlotte at the DNC.

Looking at census data from NYC
White persons, percent, 2010 (a) 44.0%
Black persons, percent, 2010 (a) 25.5%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2010 (a) 0.7%
Asian persons, percent, 2010 (a) 12.7%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, percent, 2010 (a) 0.1%
Persons reporting two or more races, percent, 2010 4.0%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin, percent, 2010 (b) 28.6%

Yes, as I would have suspected, the racial demographics of major metro areas is roughly the same as those voting Democrat - no surprise there.

Conversely, if you had census data on the racial demographics of the non-major metro areas of the USA (everyone else), I'm sure it would closely match those voting Republican.

It’s probably a bit less than 13% if you consider that most American blacks have some white admixture to them. Our President (because his father is Kenyan) is exactly half-black, but the world considers him all-black. Even 1/4 or 1/8 black people still call themselves black.

Overtime this population will gradually decrease through intermarriage. And as long as we get our borders fully controlled, the same will occur to the so-called “Hispanic” population (which, by matter of fact is mostly Spanish Caucasian).

Point being, don’t believe the straight-line extrapolations of ‘white decline’.

Thank you, both interesting summations.

I’d imagine this would be the first year that an absolute majority of the Democrats’ votes are attributed to racial minorities?

Yes, if you look at the nation as a whole, but I was from Memphis, where I saw the population shift from 60w/40b to 60b/40w.
The problem with the mulatto Obumbo is not his race, but his
Marxist/Leninist heritage.
Whatever, it is probably all over for America but the shouting, and even that is pretty weak.

I feel quite fortunate that I do not have to return to the new USSA.

I fail to comprehend what you are saying. The graphs are very simple and easy to understand. They do not mix fraction of the population and fraction of the vote “on the same line.” Each graph stands alone and tells a story — the makeup of the nation’s population and the makeup of the electorate. Their stories are remarkably consonant and telling — the Democrat party needs to work much harder to “look like America.”

It's comparing Apples and Oranges:

Apple - What is breakdown of Americans by race?

Orange - What percentage of each race voted Republican or Democrat? (shown in the graph)

Apple - What is the breakdown of those voting Repulican or Democrat by race? (not shown in the graph)

Questions 2 and 3 yield entirely different results. See my reply on posts # 19 and 21 to get numbers which are comparable

Point made. Well done. It seems that the D and R columns and lines ought to be 50% each for the issue to null and void.

That wouldn’t matter so much.

What matters is not putting the % of the total population on the same scale as the % each party wins within a population subgroup. That’s what is comparing two different things.

Boy, you better never turn your mind to considering gays. You can't open a paper anymore without some gay rights issue front and center. Gays in the military, gay marriage, gay this, gay that. And it seems you can't watch a movie or TV without some gay character. They are everywhere in the mainstream media. And they're maybe 2% of the population.

Yeah, these supposed correlations are nonsense. It’s like saying 50% of Americans are female, and 50% of women say they like carrot cake, so carrot cake is truly representative of America. WTH?

Racism continually assures political power and lots of money.

"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well." - Booker T. Washington

Looks like we have had the dynamic or race mongering for profit , for a long time.

Booker T. likely had no idea just how successful they would be, nor would MLK Jr. Just look at the NAACP today and the opposite of the spectrum, the heroic Colonel Allen West ( ret.).

I hope West prevails in Florida.

-- I have never understood how 13 percent of the population gets so much attention, so much welfare, creates so much trouble, and makes up so much of the news. --

It's a combination of factors. Violence tends to be effective, "if it bleeds, it leads," and then the violence is not only justified, but excused, by "guilt over slavery."

It's not rational, but humans aren't rational. We're force-driven creatures. Our jungle just works different from the rest of the animals.
