The war of words over Benghazi escalated Wednesday when President Obama told his critics to "go after me" rather than Ambassador Susan Rice. Those critics then said they would do exactly that.
"Mr. President, don't think for one minute I don't hold you ultimately responsible for Benghazi. I think you failed as Commander in Chief before, during, and after the attack," said Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican.
The exchange came after Mr. Graham and Sen. John McCain said they would try to block Ms. Rice if Mr. Obama tapped her to become secretary of state. They said she hasn't done an exemplary job in her current post as ambassador to the U.N., and also said she has damaged her credibility because she inaccurately blamed the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi on a mob protest.

There was no surprise about the attack. There was no 'failure of intel.' The attack was predicted in precise detail a month before it occurred. The draw down of security had to be intentional.

The president, through the attorney general (28 CFR 600). Congress can make a bunch of noise, which might spook the president into action. It did so to get an independent investigation of the "who leaked that Plame worked for the CIA?" question.
Congress can and does perform its own independent investigations. It doesn't need to have an outsider to perform its work. The advantage to having the executive branch involved is that the executive branch can bring criminal charges, while Congress can't. But, Congress has the power to remove officials from office.
Expecting Congress to do anything about this, other than flap its gums, runs counter to all of recent history.
In essence, NADT will happen.

This is strictly an aside. I understand why you used that expression, i.e., to express contempt, but folks, does it not make you wonder why there has never been any evidence at all that Mr. Graham is homosexual? Plenty of sarcastic remarks but no evidence.
Given the fact that he is somewhere in his 50s, surely there would be some trail of a dalliance here or there, don't you think?
