Egypt's Brotherhood calls to cut ties with Israel

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood condemned the assassination of Hamas military chief Ahmed Al-Jabari, and called on the authorities in Cairo to sever diplomatic and commercial ties with Israel.

The powerful group said in a statement that "the Egyptian government must be the first to (cut ties), and serve as an example to Arabs and Muslims who maintain relations with this entity."

The statement further called on the Palestinian Authority to immediately halt its defense cooperation with the IDF.

The Brotherhood urged Egyptians to take to the streets and protest in front of major mosques in Cairo and other cities after Friday prayers, with a central rally taking place in front of the Al-Azhar Mosque in the capital.

The demonstrations are meant to show that Egyptians denounce the Israeli strikes on Gaza.

"We urge the entire nation to join the Muslim Brotherhood in showing our rage over the Zionist entity's attacks and our support for the Palestinian resistance at rallies that will take place after Friday prayers," Muhammad Badie, the movement's supreme guide, said on Facebook.

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi said, "We are in contact with the people of Gaza and with Palestinians and we stand by them until we stop the aggression and we do not accept under any circumstances the continuation of this aggression on the Strip,"

Get ready. Short version of the highlight reel for 2013... Without the USA to back them and act as deterrence, Israel has to execute a preemptive attack on Iran to stop or delay the inevitable nuclear attack by Iran. Ian retaliates, conventionally, but is too far away to do much but lob missiles. Iran however talks Syria and Egypt into helping. It is the 1973 Yom Kipper war all over again. This time though, without US support, and with their backs to the wall, Israel goes nuclear. Just a couple dozen very small air or missile delivered devices aimed at airbases, missile and artillery sites, and troop concentrations.

I was on a carrier in ‘79, and we made a port call to egypt, right after the peace accords were signed.

Man, you have never seen a happier group of people, EVER..

They were literally dancing in the streets, the long costly war was over, and there was peace...

the war was so terrible and costly, and these people were just glad it was over..

perhaps this new young crowd in egypt need to have a frank talk with their grandparents...

Too bad after the assassination of President Sadat, the Mubarak administration didn’t do a very major purge of the MB. In my job I deal with the Egyptians and they are a very slimy bunch.

What's the connection to Egypt, Hamas, Syria....the muslim brotherhood.

Close, but Iran and Russia work with Syria's Assad to locate nuclear materials/bomb to Damascus. This places materials close enough to threaten Israel for real with nuclear destruction. Israel preemptive bombs Damascus hitting the nuclear stockpile, thereby fulfilling prophecy regarding Damascus and the start of the tribulation.

And for those that dismiss the connection between Egypt, Hamas, Iran through the Brotherhood, you might consider reading this policy watch

I remember the FID, I remember the snot hanging from ceiling as you left the mess hall via the escalators. But then, that seemed to be a tradition in the Navy.

Yeah..

they had cockroaches so big they would roll you right out of your rack...

one of our compartments had a hatch right in the middle of the space..

one day someone from ships company came along, undogged the hatch and opened it..

It was filled from top to bottom with old cans of coke that had exploded, the space stunk and was filled with cock a roaches...

I was eating chow, a bowl of chili, and one of the beans got up and walked up my spoon (cock a roach)...

that was one dirty unsanitary ship...
