I haven't seen any polling on the issue, but I would be shocked if even 10% of Texans want to sever their bonds with their country, the USA. Texans are as patriotic today as they ever were and very few will become associated with any movement predicated on hatred of the USA. I just hope that this anti-USA secession talk doesn't tarnish the patriotic credentials of the conservative movement.

Texans love the NFL and Texans love America. They're not going anywhere.

Texans are Texans first, Americans second. I voted on the whitehouse website, I’d vote for secession if it comes up for a real vote, and I wouldn’t have to think twice about it. It has nothing to do with hatred for the US. It has to do with a govt that is no longer accountable to the people, and outright hostile to people that want them to obey our Constitution.

Texans love the NFL and Texans love America.

Ah, but Texans love Texas even more.

"Texans love the NFL and Texans love America. They're not going anywhere."

They love America, which is a people and an ideal expressed in our founding principles. That will not change. Texans do not love the Nation-State-like government entity that many people mistake for America.

Texans will be more American after secession than they are now. Remember, the Founding Fathers did not see America or the union as a single State. The Declaration says, for example, "these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States." Plural.
