A friend was telling me a tale he heard that supposedly explains the Republican’s less than stellar reputation for fighting voter fraud.

Seems that back in the 1980s there was a voter fraud case involving the Republicans. As part of the settlement, the Republicans signed legal documents stating they would never pursue the Democrats over voter fraud.

Sounds like BS to me.

Anybody got any insight on this?

That sort of agreement would not be enforceable for multiple reasons. Sounds like an urban legend. Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one: they’re spineless.

Actually, I remember reading that somewhere also.. no source link though, it was a long time ago.
