Can Romney's loss help Republicans? (the Dems now own it all...and it doesn't look good)

Bret Stephens writes in the Wall Street Journal:

And though I have my anxieties about the president's next term, I also have a hunch the GOP dodged a bullet with Mr. Romney's loss.

... the GOP dodged ownership of the second great recession, which will inevitably hit when the Federal Reserve can no longer float the economy in pools of free money. When that happens, Barack Obama won't have George W. Bush to kick around.

Stephens's point -- that the wreckage of the past four years now belongs to Obama -- resonates in light of current events:

The stock market has nose-dived since the election, and October's $120-billion deficit is the start of a fifth straight $1-trillion-plus annual deficit -- not to mention that the economy and jobs are growing at a snail's pace.

A back-loaded ObamaCare is beginning to bite, with new taxes starting in 2013, companies cutting back benefits, and all manner of unintended consequences emerging, not the least of which is businesses coming to grips with the law by further constricting hiring. As Forbes recently observed, the health care law has hatched a "healthcare cost monster."

The EPA and other agencies have built up a regulatory cliff that rivals the fiscal cliff in potential economic damage, with no desire in a Democratic Senate to apply the brakes. And Dodd-Frank has enshrined too-big-to-fail bailouts while tying up the financial industry in endless and costly bureaucratic rulemaking.

As the regulatory chokehold tightens on the economy, Obama and the Democrats will have no one but themselves to blame.

They have the presidency, the senate and 95 percent of the MSM.
We have a few crotch kickers in the House. Not many, but a few...

Hah hah hah, too funny! Wait, he's serious? He actually thinks the democrats will take responsibility?

Remember that the Democrats blamed Hoover for the Great Depression and ran against him until the 1960s. Franklin Roosevelt was elected for a third term even though the New Deal failed to pull the nation out of the Depression. Barack Obama is limited by the Constitution from doing likewise, and, except maybe for Florida and Virginia, none of the Southern or Plains states would ever approve amending the Constitution to allow him to do so. However, a Hillary Clinton or a Joe Biden or an Andrew Cuomo or an Elizabeth Warren will blame Bush, Jr., just as Roosevelt and Truman blamed Hoover. The Democrats were a corrupt party even before they became a Marxist party. Mix the ghosts of Tammany Hall, Richard Daley, and the Prendergasts with those of Saul Alinsky, Antonio Gramsci, and the Frankfurt School, and you have the modern Democrats.

I heard the President said we’re making progress, 5 million new jobs have been added.

Can you possibly doubt him? 16,000 new armed I.R.S. agents alone to enforce obamacare, he will need many more than that.

America is now one big plantation. We’re all slaves to the government now. Obama is the world’s 2nd largest slave owner. Second only to Red China.

I don’t know. They might give us someone even more liberal than Romney.

You said: ‘There is now one last opportunity to compel Congress to remove Obama for ineligibility and thereby render null and void all legislation he signed and all appointments he made since 2009’

Unfortunately, the Rs in Congress have no intention or the guts to do this - they are only concerned about their own political future and their pockets.

In 2008 they knowingly let soetoro/obama run because they were compromised by the Dems’s resolution 511 ‘resolving’ that McCain is elig to be the president (but he is NOT), so they were obligated NOT to challenge obozo’s elig. They then thought obozo will lose to Hillary, but obozo won. Then they thought obozo will lose to McCain, but obozo won.....they have dug themselves deeper and deeper into the hole. They can’t go there for fear of implicating themselves........
They thought they will win in 2012. They are wrong again!

No one can help the stupid!

Unless they actually want to lose to obozo because they are obozo supporters???!

Either way, there is absolutely no hope for congress to throw out the usurper!

I guess it takes USA to hit rock bottom, then maybe the sleeping Americans will finally wake up, and the parasite kind find themselves sunk so low because even their messiah and big gov can’t squeeze any more from us, or print enough $, to give them any more things........

We can hope that Benghazi will remove obozo - but don’t hold your breath1

The Americans who are stupid enough to buy the lies from the liars, stupid enough not to see that they will run out of other people’s money to redistribute, simply have to learn it the hard way.
Wish we are not dragged down by these parasites.........

Republicans, not conservatives, have a majority.
Conservatives are a minority in the party.

No, it won't help Republicans.

People will look around and see they have no jobs, no homes, no hope...And they'll SCREAM...

...BUSH'S FAULT! BUSH DID THIS! THE OBSTRUCTIONIST REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS WOULDN'T GIVE OBAMA A CHANCE! THE REPUBLICANS WOULDN'T WORK TOGETHER WITH OBAMA! BUSH'S FAULT!

This election has strongly renewed what I've always known. It is simply impossible to overestimate the stupidity of the populace.

So “Republicans” will still win if conservatives stay home?

Win What? Not sure I know what they stand for. They won in 2008 and look where we are today. One continuing resolution after another, no attempt to stop anything. almost 1,000 executive orders on legislation that congress denied, and not one word from the “republicans”.

As I examine my values and the ones by the Repuclican party, I think I am the RINO.

Caving on imigration, debt, heathcare. Can you imagine how wonderful things would be if the democrats gave up on healthcare passage as easy as the republicans have given up on healthcare repeal.
