With the election over and even Republican House Speaker John Boehner declaring "Obamacare is the law of the land," Democratic state legislators are pressing Republican Gov. Tom Corbett to move ahead with implementing key parts of the national health care overhaul.
In the last two days, Rep. Dan Frankel, D-Squirrel Hill, and Rep. Tony DeLuca, D-Penn Hills, have sent letters urging Mr. Corbett to work toward establishing a health insurance exchange and approving expansion of Pennsylvania's Medicaid program.

Full disclosure: I'm not a member of Freedom works or trying to blogpimp, just thought this was important.
Today 11/16/12 is the deadline for the state to file the declaration letter, but the implementation deadline has been extended

Maybe bad FRettiquette to ping to one's own post - I promise not to do it ever again. Well, almost never :)
I also usually don't participate in these online petition thingies, but I guess I'm done being fed up over the election. Our states seem to be the last bastion against socialized medicine.

No wonder they advocate Obamacare.
I would be very, very surprised if Corbett doesn’t cave.
Since PA betrayed the country in yet another presidential election, he’ll probably think that going along with Obamacare is the best way to re-election.
Damned if he does, damned if he does not. The law provides for the Feds to establish the exchange if the state opts out. One could argue that opting out would throw a monkey wrench into the ACA and cause the law to become unworkable but at the risk of more Fed control of state government. Opting in would give the state more control but at the risk of signaling that the ACA is indeed the settled law of the land.
Thanks for the ping.
