Gov. Susana Martinez: Comments like Romney’s set ‘us back as a party’ (Romney thrown under bus)

"We need to embrace them not just at election time. We visit them, and they don't appreciate that. And I don't blame them for not appreciating that. We should not visit them when we need their vote and then walk away," she said. "And then four years go by and we go visit them again. We have to make them part of the solution, and the way you do that is by listening to them. And then making that part of, 'how do we do this together to make our lives all better?'

"And then once you've done it," she added, "you tell them we did it together."

The Democrat Party...its existence is predicated upon keeping its members:
Dumb...
Depressed...
Dependent...
AND...Democrat...

Heh...I guess Team Romney is now finding out what it feels like to be backstabbed and cast aside, considering what they did to Sarah Palin after the 2008 election.

Martinez is talking about legal Hispanics.

I assume that legal Hispanic voters are OK to pursue. They tend to be Catholic or Evangelical, so they are taught a basic work ethic. That also means they are pro-life, pro-natural relationships, and pro-family.

She says to listen to their solutions to problems.

I think Romney would have been better served choosing Martinez as his running mate. She was a district attorney prior to her governorship, and she was an accomplished woman. She was seriously pro-life, and the weakness would have been she was only half way through her first term as governor. That might have reminded the media of Sarah Palin.

A Hispanic female in a pro-Obama state would have been just as good as a muzzled white guy from a pro-Obama state, and maybe even better.

Although, Romney was so cautious he probably would have muzzled her, too.

I would think Legal Hispanics who did it the right way would be the most against illegal immigration, they played by the rules, why shouldn’t they.....but I never hear any Republican state this.

I agree. I’m betting legal Hispanics don’t want illegals flooding over the border and taking jobs and ruining pay-scales.

At the same time, it’s probably annoying to have your citizenship questioned every time you turn around.

“That also means they are pro-life, pro-natural relationships, and pro-family”

They might say they are pro-life and pro-natural relationships, but the 71% percent of them that voted for ZERO proves they are hypocrites that puts free government handouts above their faith.

“If you read it she was critical of the 47% comment that Romney made during the election campaign, not his later sore loser comment”.

This comment was made by Romney, behind closed doors, to a bunch of campaign donors. It was not intended for public consumption. Jimma Cahta’s worthless ass grandson is the one gave the video to the ZERO worshipping press and they ran with it. ZERO’s tactics to get the advantage over an opponent is usually divorce cases or trying to smear the opponent with lies and other BS, like floating the idea that Romney was the cause of a woman dying from cancer. This dispicable SOB will go to any length to stay in power. Democrats are the lowest of the low. Bottom feeders of the worse order.

It is possible that the Republicans ran a candidate who appeared to support gay couples adopting children, abortion in almost all circumstances, and gay scouts.

That might have made them think it didn’t really matter.

That might have made them think the republicans weren’t serious about those issues.

I assume she is talking about conservatives. This is good advice.

Uh, no she was not. Go read the article. This is towards the end. Last three paragraphs.

You are right, but he would have still been an improvement over the Constitution, God-hating Obama.

We need to embrace them not just at election time.

She's talking about Americans by birth who happen to be Hispanic and LEGAL Hispanics.

She IS a born American Hispanic herself.

It took me a long time to make up my mind to vote for Romney. I would never have voted for Obama.

But, I know a lot of families whose background is democrat and that’s the way it is. It is without thought, and the only way to make them think is to give them something to think about....a contrast.

Romney didn’t provide contrast on social issues, and other than “I can create jobs”, he didn’t really get in there and fight against Obama’s ideas.

“Go read the article. She wasn’t talking about you.”

I was responding to her words which I quoted in my post.

I don’t need to be “visited” nor should anyone else. I vote for freedom, individual responsibility, and less government. I don’t have to have anyone “visit” me to do so.

Nor should anyone else.

I happen to be non-Hispanic and a LEGAL non-Hispanic. I don’t need a “visit”. Why should they? Don’t they yearn to breathe free like I do?
