Gov. Susana Martinez: Comments like Romney’s set ‘us back as a party’ (Romney thrown under bus)

"We need to embrace them not just at election time. We visit them, and they don't appreciate that. And I don't blame them for not appreciating that. We should not visit them when we need their vote and then walk away," she said. "And then four years go by and we go visit them again. We have to make them part of the solution, and the way you do that is by listening to them. And then making that part of, 'how do we do this together to make our lives all better?'

"And then once you've done it," she added, "you tell them we did it together."

Translation to Martinez and Bobby Jindal, the Republican Party does not need to kiss the ass of illegals. If that's what you and Jidal would like to see I suggest you switch to the other party. I am am angry white guy, and let me remind you that this country was founded by angry white guys. Romney was 100% right in saying ZERO got minority support because of welfare mentality. And let me remind you that Bush got 45% of the hispanic vote by being an open borders advocate. No other reason.

“I suggest you switch to the other party.”

That’s exactly what I told my husband yesterday. A party already exists that hates America. It’s the Democrat party. Rubio, Jindel, et al., need to go there and help with the destruction of our country. We don’t need jackals internally.

Well she’s committed to setting up the Obamacare health care exchange in New Mexico and will probably agree to the Medicaid expansion as well. Anyone thinking of backing her in 2016 should be careful.

These people P me off to no end. I am of Italian heritage...that does not mean I believe the whole Italian peninsula should be able to migrate here free of hurdles. My wife is Irish and feels the same way about Ireland. Why is it we feel that we have to let everyone come here and become citizens overnight? Citizenship means something to me. My grandfather served in WWI, my dad in WW2 and me during Vietnam. We ALL enlisted because we loved our country. It used to be if you came here, you had to meet the “quota” AND had to have a sponsor so you did not go on the dole. What happened to that? Why have we become a dormat country?? What the hell happened with our national spirit? Some have said my country left me, I did not leave it. Well, perhaps the way to look at it is the country has seceeded from its roots. Call it what you want but those who feel like I deserve their nation back or another one in its place. To the dems and the RINO’s who feel other than I do, good ridance to bad garbage.

No one, no one is probably enjoying that title more than Sarah. The skid marks on her back from the buses she was thrown under and now all the suspects that did it, ergo Kristol, Noonan, Rove, the Romneybots for 4 yrs etc are now looking for a napkin to wpie off the egg on their faces.

My guess is she knew they had it out for her and took a powder.

In her heart then, the question begs did she know Romney would be this much of a loser, or that the Obamatons had it rapped up with their physc-ops of free-stuff.

If she did her move was wiser than any of the punditry class will ever give her credit for.

And the E-GOP looses 2 in a row, running the It's my turn and I am the one the blue-haired East Coast E-GOP-ers wanted candidate.

It is time for us to leave the E-GOP, they have left us...

Lots of Repubicans are hanging hopes on Martinez just as they are with Rubio, but the times I’ve heard direct quotes from her, she seemed more likely to end up in the RINO wing of the party than in the more principled wing.

Romney lost because he offered jobs to country where 51% of the people do not want to work.

Romney was right about a couple of things during this campaign. We need to lower tax RATES and BROADEN the tax base. Unfortunately we won’t see that happen. Primarily though, what he got right, and is the elephant in the room, is we have more takers than ever in this country. How we win the Presidency is we need a principled candidate who is a true conservative and can convince enough takers that they can have the opportunity to become a maker and be better for it in the end. Who out there in our so-called “deep bench” actually espouses conservatism to the extent that they can passionately write about it and communicate it to the masses? We know that Reagan wrote volumes on his conservative beliefs. Others focused only about certain aspects (Kemp - fiscal, Cheney - foreign policy, etc.) Who can do the total package? That’s who we need to find in these next 3 years. Is that person out there?

When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?

Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.

Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.

Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .

“...did she know Romney would be this much of a loser...”

She was the only commentator on Fox that showed emotion on election night. She was upset because of what Obambi’s reelection meant for her country. It is not all about her. She actually wanted Romney with his liberal warts and all to win.

She should have run herself but I don’t know what the results in the primary would have been.

In other words, Romney should have been like Obama. Just stick to the lies. The dumbasses living in the country won’t know any better. Never tell the truth.

yeah but at least Rubio has the ‘it’ factor. I don’t think Martinez has what it takes to even get rino’s excited.

If you read it she was critical of the 47% comment that Romney made during the election campaign, not his later sore loser comment.

Romney insulting voters ahead of time in the campaign and then losing to O is a big reason why the remainder of party is panicking and calling for amnesty. If he was a winner there would be little pressure to do something as bad as amnesty.

Keep insulting voters and losing elections and the R party will just become serfs to dems. Romney was a crap candidate.

Yes she was, and it was the same pain on her face that she had a week before she said she wouldn't run. She couldn't hide it, unlike Rove who is a voyeur, and never done it himself she has won and lost races and could see the trend, she knew....

Palin would have beat all candidates, except for maybe Romney - he was the problem.

He came into the race as the money. Big big financial background, and ran a smart (as far as fighting Republicans anyway) candidate.

Palin backed off. It looked like she had second-thoughts about Romney, but I think also her girls were growing up through that age where a lot happens. Palin called her girls first.

I hope now that they’ve grown, Palin will be back with a vengeance.
