Businessman: Jill Kelley Asked For $80M, Bragged of Petraeus Connection By BRIAN ROSS | ABC News

A New York businessman who discussed a multi-billion-dollar Korean business deal with Jill Kelley said the Tampa woman at the center of the Petraeus scandal told him Gen. Petraeus had arranged for her to become an honorary consul for South Korea and promote free trade, and then asked him for $80 million to complete the deal.

"Ms. Kelley made it clear to me that General Petraeus put her in this position, and that's why she was able to have access to such senior levels [of the Korean government]," said Adam Victor, president and CEO of TransGas Development Systems, "that they were essentially doing a favor for General Petraeus, and that she had access solely because of her relationship with General Petraeus."

Victor, who met Kelley at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August, said he was disappointed in Gen. Petraeus for helping Kelley become an honorary consul. "Frankly, I blame Gen. Petraeus for this as a lapse of judgment," he said. "The general should have known better."

Gen. Petraeus resigned as CIA director last Friday after an FBI investigation turned up evidence of an affair between Petraeus and Paula Broadwell, co-author of the Petraeus biography "All In." The investigation began when Kelley, a Tampa socialite, told an FBI agent she knew about "harassing" emails that turned out to originate from Broadwell.

According to Victor, he went to Tampa to promote coal gasification and met a friend of Kelley's who suggested that they meet to discuss a possible international deal. "The person who introduced me to her said that she was well known to be a very close friend of Gen. Petraeus," said Victor.

This may or may not be a scandal, but it is an open window for the American people to see how things work in our Federal Government.

And it should make people sick that a no-nothing nobody could garner $80 million of tax-payer money for doing nothing, but name-dropping and handshaking.

Oh, and it was a no-bid contract. I have a vague memory of Liberals not liking those once....

There never was a contract, let alone your imaginary "no-bid" contract.

She never received $80mm, nor was there ever a chance of her receiving $80mm. SHe did not "garner" a red cent.

If she was actually able to set up a meeting between the SK government that resulted in the SK government or an SK corporation financing a large-scale energy project, she probably could have been paid a finders' fee for organizing the meeting - perhaps as much as a few hundred thousand dollars.

But she did not have anywhere close to that level of access to real-money investors, she lied to this guy.

And the fact that she asked for such an astronomical sum proved that she had no idea what she was doing and was not a real player.

Jill Kelley is a dolt and a wannabe.

Oh I think she was doing quite a bit more than “nothing.” Maybe her favors went beyond handshaking...

So now, the head of the CIA is also responsible for State Dept functions and Dept of Commerce functions?

BINGO! I am getting a little unsettled by all of this. If this is all true, why in THE HELL is a Director of the CIA supposedly orchestrating INTERNATIONAL ENERGY TRADE?!

Jill Kelley is a dolt and a wannabe.

Perhaps...

... but if she really is - as some sources indicate - the smiley face of Islamic PR influencing the military staff at MacDill/CENTCOM (and DC, apparently), then she may be either:

1. less of a dolt than we might like
2. less of a dolt than a lot of our military and congress
3. any combination of 1 & 2.

Pump the brakes, Wideawake. I never wrote that she “did” it, but that it could be possible in our corrupt government. And that possibility is an issue.

It was reported on both CNN and Fox that it was for a “no bid” contract. What are your sources who say otherwise? I’m ok with being wrong.

Try to relax and get some sleep, Wideawake. You’ve come across as reactionary, overly-defensive, and unnecessarily angry.

Jill Kelley must be the COO of “Floozzies ‘R Us.” What the heck is going on when plastic surgery and liposuction qualifies a woman to demand $80 mil for her “services?” The U.S. government is being run by Snookie wanna bees.

There never was a contract. There was never even a meeting. This guy was hoping to get a meeting that could eventually lead to a contract.

Jill eclipsed the Kardashians and Paris Hilton.
She didn’t even have to release a sex video to become a tabloid star, LOL.

smiley face of Islamic PR

I don't buy that.

Her family are Lebanese Christians who fled their home in Jounieh in 1975 at the height of the civil war, when Muslims were hunting people like the Khawams in the streets and murdering them.

I would put chances of her being a pro-Islamist at about 0.0001%.

There are two CA Senators who have been up to their eyeballs in “agreements” with South Korea since Samsung became a big name in USA electronics.
Hmm, who could they be?

The FBI has determined that Lieutenant Colonel Broadwell’s “harassing” emails did not constitute a crime.

Apparently she was right about Jill Kelley!
