Former CIA Director David Petraeus gave closed door briefings to Congress today. After the hearing, Democrats and Republicans disputed whether Petraeus has been consistent in his testimony, and whether the CIA talking points on the attack were altered.
"The original talking points prepared by the CIA were different than the final ones put out," Reb. King [said]. Originally, he said, they were "much more specific on al Qaeda involvement."
Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Md., didn't agree with King's recollection of the Sept. 14 briefing.
Ruppersberger told reporters after the hearing, "My recollection was ... [Petraeus said] it was the result of the protest... but he also said in the group there were some extremists and some where al Qaeda affiliates."
Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., "Gen. Petraeus as director of the CIA has been completely consistent."
Conrad, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said that much of the confusion is due to the difference between classified and unclassified information.
"When people are talking in a classified setting, they can say much more than they can say in an unclassified setting," Conrad said.

Please notice the switch in using the word "classified."
In this instance, the word confidential might be used to mean private, not classified.
Since the democrat party and media will circle the wagons regardless of what the evidence implies - and the GOP lacks the courage to call their bluff - they will go nowhere.
I recollect that Hillary Clinton was going out all over the place spreading the word that it was a video on YOUTUBE.
She even told the Father of the SEAL who gave his life defending the U.S.....That was many days after Sept the 14th.
This gives us a good glimpse into this thing's soul.
And the way things are going the odds are better than even it'll be our next president.
Pretty convenient there is no transcript in these blab sessions where no oath to the truth is required. This is what we get with the stupid party in charge of preferred spin sessions rather than legitimate inquiry with a special prosecuter & testimony under oath.
Nothing but spin without a prosecutor can be expected.
