This was not the automatic recount because West hasn't reached the .5 yet. Likely the recount would be triggered if all early ballots were counted (which obviously is what the fracas is about).

From what I understand the Judge's hands are tied for the time being. It's up to the Supervisor to decide what should be tabulated before certification.

However, I think that once the vote is certified, West can again bring the challenge to the court and the court can then rule.

You are correct. Auto recount is just that. Recount based on irregularities is hard to prove when you have not yet seen the totals and sign in books.

Paying for the recount is the alternative and the funds are being raised.

“funny numbers” election night and her admission and voluntary partial recount just did not do it for the judge at this time. He mentioned appeal in his ruling as well as responsibility of the Board to do an accurate count.

Don’t give up yet. West won the other 2 counties involved, but I have not read the total votes there so do not know what they add to the total in St.Lucie County. It must not be a large number.
