“HA! About half of those simply hired.com job postings are duplicates for oven operator and a lot of them are for oven helper.”
They could go work at McDonald’s and be a Hamburger Helper.
“Instead of speculating about the Execs screwing the poor
little workers why dont you do some reasearch and find out.
I am sure it is public record what they were paid and dont you think if that was the case the MSM would be plastering it all over the air waves?”
Because I don’t care enough one way or the other to research it. Everybody else on this thread seemed to be speculating wildly in favor of the poor abused Hostess company. I just thought a little balance was called for.
Probably the labor force sucked. Probably management sucked just as much.
Paying the work force is part of doing business, if they can’t do that and still stay open....well the market has spoken huh?
Not 18,500, just 5,000. There were half a dozen unions who had already accepted the deal, the Bakers were holding out.
Klew: If the Teamsters looks at the situation and agrees to a pay cut, maybe your strike is a kamikaze.
Hey SNARKY.... Explain why the Teamsters told the Bakers to take it?
Take your time as you gather your thoughts.
Were not making a whole lot of money out here and then we got to take a pay cut like that. Then you got your health benefits going up, he said."
Health costs going up? Now why would that be?
It is almost Chrismas, and now we will have no Hostess HO Hos!
Mabye the Union hacks who lost their jobs will get Christmas HO HOs from Santa Bama. Or maybe just Christmas Hos. “Swipe my EBT, Ho.”
One more thing, under UNION RULES Twinkies and Wonder Bread could NOT be delivered by the same route!!
Take your time as you gather your thoughts!!
“Hey SNARKY.... Explain why the Teamsters told the Bakers to take it?

I already said I didn’t research it...but...if I had to guess why, Id say the Teamsters got a better bribe than the bakers. Or possibly the teamster boss got a better kickback.
Clearly, they're part of the EEEEEEeeeeevil, repressive anti-worker conspiracy. Duh.
Seriously. You're drilling a dry well, here. You do know that, right...? ;)
You and Jethro Bodine are learnin' to cipher real good. Wahoo!
North Carolina needs to make sure these economic terrorists do NOT get unemployment benefits for destroying a company and thousands of jobs.
“One more thing, under UNION RULES Twinkies and Wonder Bread could NOT be delivered by the same route!!

So the Teamsters did get a better bribe with double the routes. That’s probably why they urged the bakers to take a paycut huh?
No, my misinformed one. The teamsters saw the books and the company was not viable. Chapter 13 was inevitable.
The idiots are the bakers that caused 18,900 direct and untold thousands indirect job losses.
Good luck getting a job at Little Debbie.
I have never seen the actual numbers but I understand unemployment compensation plus other benefits that go with it would exceed what they are making. My same source said Massachusetts pays the most - anyone have a link to the amounts, state by state?
I sure hope that none of Lamont’s 18,000 fellow *former* employees track him down and administer some severe revolutionary justice. That would break my ******* heart.
These rules have been in place for many years. You are a very young Robert.
“”Then you got your health benefits going up, he said.””
Hmmm - wouldn’t that be a good thing? Who wouldn’t want their BENEFITS to go up?
I am suprised in a way. The Teamsters agreed to the deal. In the old days, the Teamsters would have cracked a few heads to get the others on board.
indeed. your state makes me want to look in to the costs of moving my house about 45 miles east of here.
“No, my misinformed one. The teamsters saw the books and the company was not viable. Chapter 13 was inevitable.”
So the Teamsters let the Wonder Bread and the Twinkies go on the same route then?
You just said they didn’t.
Let me reiterate, I don’t care....at all. I don’t eat Twinkies and I don’t Live in Rocky Mount.
I just thought the thread needed some balance to the evil union blessed management posts.
