Victor Davis Hanson: A Country Unhinged
Private Papers ^ | November 15, 2012 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 11/16/2012 6:15:00 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

In the last week, it is almost as if the entire American moral landscape has been turned upside down in eerie fashion — in matters that vastly transcend fornication and adultery. The Petraeus-gate matter is the stuff of tabloids now; but soon the real issues relating to when and what Eric Holder knew, and by extension the president, and how exactly Benghazi (the crime of indifference to the besieged, the cover-up of the truth, the actual mission of our consulate and annex) fits into this labyrinth of deceit, both petty and fundamental, may overshadow the present sensationalism.

Nothing seems real anymore, not pre-election federal data on jobs or food stamps or the release of such “facts”; not foreign-policy information like an Iranian attack on a drone; not the supposedly competent federal relief in response to Hurricane Sandy. Even Saddam Hussein’s plebiscites could not achieve margins like the 19,605 to 0 we saw in 59 Philadelphia precincts. Does anyone care?

Susan Rice, who flat out deceived five times in a single day on national TV, is supposedly seriously being considered as Secretary of State when Ms. Clinton leaves — the latter now plans to be “busy” when hearings on Libya resume. (If a John Bolton cannot be confirmed as a UN ambassador, how could Rice avoid a filibuster?) How can anyone now read Broadwell’s book and assume the research and analysis are disinterested?(continued)

Radical liberals or what ever you want to call them have some sort of psychological/emotional problem processing reality. In Israel obviously children of European descended Jews are taught how specifically to insult and demean IDF members manning checkpoints into paliwog land. Young tween girls taunt, curse, slap and sometimes spit on these soldiers while their adult handlers can be seen carefully videotaping the encounters hoping some soldier will eventually backhand one of these foolish children so the snippet can be uploaded as ‘proof’ of IDF brutality. One of the leftist adults when confronted about this behavior screamed ‘Its my right. I hate fu-king Israel. It should be destroyed. I hate fu-king Zionist Jews.’ That is the leftist mindset in action. Many of us first saw it here in the 60’s and it has grown and morphed into an international secular humanist death cult.

More like watching the remarkable public relations triumph the abolitionist minority pulled off over John Brown's incarceration and execution. Hundreds of churches tolling their bells, hysterically emotional ‘memorial services in a half dozen states, the carefully staged ‘martyr's funeral’ of Brown and a number of those killed at Harper’s Ferry. Sermon's published in thousands of copies comparing America's first terrorist to Christ and his band of heavily armed terrorists to the Apostles. In the first place this was blasphemous to a deeply religiously conservative folk such as Southerners were and secondly it meant that many of their fellow Americans were hailing a man who wished to incite a slave revolt of the bloodiest sort as the reincarnation of Christ. I believe that was the moment when a majority of white Southerners regardless of whether they were slave holders or not decided there was no place for them in a country that many of their countrymen wanted them and their wives and children slaughtered in the most brutal manner. Watching Obama’s people I begin to have some of the same feelings my ancestors did long ago.

So, the institution of slavery was present in the thirteen colonies at the time of the Revolution and the states where slavery existed entered the federal union as such. Slavery was a legal and recognised institution and the economy of the South rested upon it. Hypocrites such as yourself who had no vested interest in the condition of the slave states could afford to dine out on their virtue. It costs t nothing and produced a warm glow of sanctimony not unlike what modern leftists feel as they contemplate what wonderfully virtuous folks they are.

>> Nothing seems real anymore

Corruption and being violated has a way of giving that impression.

Look, folks, we’re dealing with the “perfect storm” of deceit, misinformation, omissions, and greed. First, we modify the way information is disseminated to the citizens.

I agree with you.The election has made me pretty much indifferent to politics The America that I knew as a kid some forty-five years ago has vanished and in it’s place is something I just don’t understand. Obama has seen to it to create a dependent class that will scream and holler if their ‘’free stuff’ is not forth coming.

What has changed is the demographics.

If only the white vote is taken into account it was 60-39 for Romney. A landslide. The America we all remember.

We grew up in a country where a white majority had standards, rules, laws, accountability, logic and most importantly rationality. The majority of whites - 60% still understand and respect the constitution.

While whites are still the majority but minorities grew just enough to join with the kooky white minority which has always existed to tip the scales in favor of the left.

The politicians are acting like they don’t have to answer to the majority of whites - 60% that are in an absolute rage about the criminal dysfunction. In fact, politicians of both stripes are scrambling to grant citizenship to illegals in an attempt to marginalize white voters who want all of these criminals held accountable.

51% (total Obama vote) - 39% (white) = 12% (all minorities)

That tiny differential of new minority voters is causing massive destruction. The tipping point where a tiny group pushed us over the edge since there are a large number of white people that are just too plain lazy or too apathetic to vote in the first place.

I hear you. I have two brothers and a sister who voted for Obama so for me it's personal. The Lefts and Libs are going to find out all they done is re-elected a new captain for the Titanic and we're all going to down with the ship.

Well, since those Nine Mexicans moved in with us last January 1st, I guess I'll have no choice but to claim them as dependants until they leave. Mexicans are really easy to get!

(Nine seems to be the limit)

I guess a lot less money will be going to uncle federal from now on, especially if lots of people get Mexicans, or Guacamoles, or Honduricanes, etc ........................................................................... FRegards

I there with you, I made the decision that I’m just going to watch as it all goes to hell, they voted for this, let them get what’s coming. To me the enemy is truly within now. I don’t see us ever having another Reagan era, this country is permanently divided. The left has a death grip now and won’t let go.

Nobody seems to be buying what we’re selling and we’ll never be able to compete against Santa Claus.

Then how does the vast majority of the county not believe that we are on the right track and that Romney would have been better for the economy ? All this hand wringing is way premature. Republicans have to be smarter now that we know what we are up against but I doubt Obama would even win today if the undermining of healthcare had been a major issue and these post election layoff bombs had detonated a few weeks ago.

None of us should kid ourselves, it's real. Maybe not me, though Laz will disagree, maybe. The Rage Monkey should live, though be passive for a time and then not appease. Travis had a Great and along the line, if not of the time .... something called a story Trav? Was all too real, and much too possible. Mesta, the time is this the present, or the past, would like to tell us all a story of present and future, for all and most never remember. Sounds like Once Upon A Time, in a place far far away, but is the present now and will be the present come the next of many a year to each day. Will continue to read the information. Will try to bring a message forth. Each of us has a story. I do not call us the only four.

Little Israel. There is so much hate, in our world for this small beachhead. It is as Satan himself is in each of those who want this tiny beachhead thrown back into the sea. The Holocaust deniers, the words and works of Satan himself. Satan is angry always. Satan never places his anger on a shelf.

Take each day and utilize threads to weave a rope. Tie a knot and hang on. Despair not for despair brings more despair. Praise God. Remember where you are. We are not to the table placed before each of us, though all of us can smell the smell. All will be okay.
